My setup for now. Likely to change. Just got my Hangkey from cogent on the black Friday deal. On the right, tec p7, UFO, and inchworm. Keys are on a master link connected to a spro size 6 swivel.

    Sent from the tundra.

    hi deanfx,

it is called a cabochon, it is a metal base with a glass top, they can be round, oval or even square, and come in many sizes and finishes, you can get them (separately or together) on ebay or etsy, i got 30 sets (bases and glasses) for less than $5 on etsy, pm me if you want the links. i printed many round images in one page (using photographic paper), cut them, and glued them to the cabochon base, then glued the glass. you can use the image you want, it can be a face, a ying-yang, your own design or anything, then just hang it to your key chain, knife or any edc to give it a personal touch, they really look cool. here are some pictures to give you a better idea

Actually, the term "cabochon" refers to a gem that is rounded and polished on one side instead of being cut into facets. I would guess that, in this case, the term is used in reference to the shape of the glass. That being said, I like them, too. Nice work!

thanks for the detailed explanation jag-engr, i'm sure that must be the origin of the name they use now to sell these on etsy and ebay

I put a little piece of tape behind the P38 blade instead of wrapping-- does the SAK get scratched up on your rig?

Yes, it gets scratched up on it. Either that or it gets scratched from use. Adds character I guess.

Still trying to achieve an optimal set up. I don't believe it is possible, as there are so many optimal setups!! Made a brass piece for my keygrip to attach all the stuff that won't fit inside it! Brass and copper combo. First time working with brass....I like it!

Did you make that keeper that your keys fold up into? I like that! I have been messing with master links for a few days. Like you, not sure I will ever get my keys just right.
