Anyone have any recommendations on key organizers? I tried Keysmart and it was OK, pretty good but the screw kept loosening. Minimal, small and noiseless preferred (eg. not keys clinking on a ring)TIA

Watching this with interest, I've tried a few solutions over the years and nothing has worked out for me yet

Use blue Loctite on the Keysmart screws.

I have a keysmart and you have to put it together correctly using the spacers to keep the screws from loosening. I have never had a problem with it. The keybar is cool too and I have one but it is way expensive and the keysmart is just as nice. You are paying for a design on the keybar and not really worth it for me. The keybar is for sale on ebay because I can get other accessories for the keysmart with that money.

I use 2 key containment devices
    MAGKEY:

    TIP-Gorilla Glue them on

    And Cogent Industries:

    Ti "Hang Key" x 2ea.
Ti "Hook up clips" with all Titanium split rings. x6ea.

I have 1 Hang key set up for just for my truck key & Fob / Ti Atwood Tool
... and 1 for my house keys / Ti Mini JETbeam / Tweezers

It cuts down on the mass and I keep my house key "fob" in my left rear pocket on the far left and the truck key goes next to it to the right so I know which one I am grabbing.

I have been told on several occasions that too much weight on your ignition switch is a bad thing. I didn't believe it and you couldn't talk me into it. Until... I was at my GMC dealership last year and there was an elderly lady sitting next to me who had a 1986 Buick Regal with a bad ignition switch. Her keychain looked hefty and she said the tech said was more than likely the weight of her keys.... the car had less than 40K on it.

    So... better safe than sorry.

I have too many keys for any one key organization method.

I use a KeyPort for my six most-used keys - including a chunky Toyota key that is now just a single slot in the device. I have one of the Cogent Hook-Up clips like ScoutMedic is using above to clip the Keyport to various clips or hangers.

I carry three smaller keys on a roller chain master link (#35, IIRC) and an "SF" clip.

I also have a key fob that I occasionally use when driving my wife's car. It is also hanging on a Cogent Hook-Up clip.

I generally carry whichever keys I'm using for the day on a knotted leather cord that I slip under my belt.

For other ideas, check out the first link in my signature. The thread is a little out-dated, but there are still some good suggestions there.

Currently using a KeySmart Extended, but don't like the way that the posts are wearing (top of the female post peeling away). Have an Orbitkey v2 on order via Kickstarter, particularly looking forward to feeling of leather in pocket.

[IMG] a little noisy but rubber or plastic washers could solve that...

That's awesome! I have all the pieces to do that, but I need to cut down my keys first.

I had to open the holes up on the quick release also but easy enough to do with a drill.
