I redid my keymod on my Leatherman Micra. Dunno if it's been done before on keys! Since I only have my house key, it works well!
I appropriated the "Wave" design from Emerson. I'm calling it the "Kanagawa Wave Mod". I kept the stop portion of the key so it doesn't get pushed in too deep. But I also slightly curved and smoothed it so it deploys easy when I pull it out of my pocket.

I'm really happy with it as it is ready when I pull it out from my pocket with the lanyard sticking out. My jeans are tight enough that it stays vertical along the edge without it falling horizontal when I move about. No, I'm not overweight nor do I wear skinny jeans ;) Just regular 501's

    Here's some photos:

Brass is pretty easy to hacksaw or file, or a die grinder (or dremel) or even a cut-off wheel should do; Best not to use a grinding wheel though, as brass (& aluminum) can clog them. I'd hacksaw then file to fit if I didn't have a dremel clone. I may still hacksaw then file them :) And yes, I'd use a copy of the keys, it'd have to be harder to make a copy from a modified key like these!

I used a Dremel with a cutting wheel. Then used several files including a small round one for the wave portion. Then I used a buffing wheel on the Dremel to round off the sharp edges.

Yes make a few copies and take your time. Don't rush it. I can post a link to the template I made in a day or so :)
