Magnum Research Mountain Eagle 22lr. The firearm is de-cocked.

That's awesome. I had one years ago. Should have never let it go. The stopped making those a long time ago.?

I don't know much about the brand. I bought this new as a Christmas present for my dad in the early 1990s and I unfortunately inherited it back from him in 2016.
Magnum research was so famous for the gigantic Desert Eagle . Then they put out a plastic 22. I had to have one.

Lol! Yes. I actually had an Israeli made Desert Eagle .357 magnum that was the inspiration behind me buying this pistol for my dad.
They also offered the IMI Jericho Army Pistol which I have in 9mm and .45!
These are great guns too!
These are nice guns! Great to see that there are still people out there who appreciate them.
They are maybe the best "Shooters" that I own too!
There are great Plastic guns out there but these full steel combat pistols just handle so much better to me in general and if I had to choose just one to have forever it would be either one of these two or the Beretta M9 and for the same reasons too.
Although the Sig Steel pistols are pretty sweet too.
That's been my EDC for over thirty years now. I bought my first NAA in 1985 and one has been with me ever since. Its the easiest way to ALWAYS have a gun in my pocket. It's saved my butt three times now when things looked hincky. Last time was an attempted car jacking at a highway rest stop between El Paso and Ft. Hancock Texas just after dawn.
Never under estimate a .22 at close range.
25 yd. challenge entry on another board...
I recently upgraded my Advantage Arms .22lr conversion upper for my G17 with the addition of a Vortex Venom via a dove tail plate adapter from DPP Titanium.... it is 7075-T6 and pretty tough... it adds weight to the already challenged blow back upper.. I removed the retaining end cap to allow the recoil spring to extend a little further... attempts to re spring with a slightly larger diameter wire spring was not successful... I've started shooting Steel Challenge Carry Optics with a G17 and milled aftermarket Swensen slide and barrel... did add an Apex trigger to the G17.. the slightly wider AA slide fits in an old SERPA holster so I can practice one shot draws...
just ordered a PMACA chassis for my Ruger Charger for my next project
That's the way to do it, take a family heirloom and pass it down. Kudos!
I have an old JC Higgins bolt action rifle that my dad bought in early 60s and taught me how to shoot with. In his 90s he would shoot squirrels with CB caps while living in town. (Slightly illegal )
follow up on the PMACA chassis and take down Charger... I purchased the rear section only for the take down, and use the factory hand guard on the front... added an AR rifle length buffer tube with the end knob milled off, and gives a good shoulder support, no blade or brace... for sights originally put a Vortex Spitfire prism scope, but then added a UTG extended Scout Rail for a 10/22... AR carry handle rear, and flip up front... with my bifocals I get a reasonable sight picture... moving the carry handle forward to bridge to the front section greatly reduced the slight flex... fun gun to shoot, and would be ideal for someone with recoil or noise objections.... mine is very reliable with the 15 round factory,
oh, a picture is needed.
ran23, living up north... if the comment was to me (Les), I don't have a hosting site since Photobucket decided to hold my pics for ransom... an update.. ordered a rifle length take down barrel from Brownells last night... will make the Charger into a carbine as a project (I'll add a carbine stock)... I was originally going to build a full float 10/22 in a PMACA chassis for Steel Challenge, but my 10" .22lr upper on my SBR works well and handles very quickly... and I really need to work with my Carry Optic G17... I shoot the PCC AR9 for regular USPSA matches almost exclusively..it has been 3 years since I've shot a pistol in a USPSA match.... regards
I've only seen one pic of a Charger made into a rifle/carbine with stock. neat idea.
Not sure if you ever visit the forum on a mobile device (using the Tapatalk app), but you can post pics from your phone directly to the thread, no hosting site needed. I also used to use Photobucket...bummer they did what they did.
shot the 16" take down 10/22 in the PMACA chassis today at an outdoor Steel Challenge match...it had a set of hand-me-down sights (Vortex Spitfire) and worked pretty well with 15rd magazines mags, though the dot could have been brighter in the bright Sun... it has earned a SPARC with brighter dot... and SOPMOD style slanted cheek rest stock...very light, and swings almost as well as the 10" on the SBR... regards
