    Full tang Mora???

    What is this heresy???

    Unveiled at this years ShotShow...

    Previews are up on YouTube...

Knife stays true to Mora blade shape and styling and comes with a clever attachment system for the sheath...

I'll try to get some pics up in a few minutes.

I saw it but the price is up there with a whole lot of other options.

    Yeah...

Was looking for a pic for this thread and finally stumbled on MSRP and was a little shocked.

Maybe street price will be more in line with Mora's other offerings...

The brand is praised everywhere, but lack of a full tang has kept me uninterested until now.

the price is way too high :yellowcarded: ... I love the looks of it, though. I found it quoted in the 150$ range.

How is a few square inches of covered, unsharpened steel inside the handle gonna cost that much more than their 15$ budget offerings?

Price I saw was below 100 with the plastic sheath, but yeah...

I was wondering the same thing.

    Who knows?

Rep in the vid on YT said that it probably wouldn't hit USA until June so there's time to make adjustments if necessary.

Thing is I don't NEED one; but that's never stopped me before I guess...

If it's available for 75 or less I'll probably get one...

Hopefully Jon gets all his issues lined out by then and I can pick it up from J.S.Burly's.

The same problem they have with the Bushcrafter--a little more knife for MUCH more money.

Jarhead Greasemonkey, you can pick up a full (rat tail) tang Mora blade and stack your own handle for it (that is, if you're mechanically inclined :giggle:). Knifeworks has them.

Mora said on their Facebook page the US MSRP would be 110. So probably 70-80 street prices when the hype dies down. I'm guessing some of the added price comes from the leather sheath but even then it shouldn't add that much. I'll pick one up if they come out with a carbon steel version but the one they revealed is stainless.

I read a review somewhere, maybe Outside Online, that really bashed it. A big complaint was the handle. They said it is a different material than the Companion and that it is very hard and dangerously slippery. Also that the blade is too thick to have a true Scandi grind, so it is sabre ground. In testing they said it's not a good slicer and really only excels at processing wood.

Sounds like the Garberg may have lost some of the other endearing qualities of the Moras along with the price. I had high hopes for the this knife but will stick with the low cost models for now.

I found a bundle of the Garberg with a carbon 511 for a little over $60 shipped so I decided to get one. Reading the reviews there are some shortcomings of the design but at this price point it seems like a decent value. I know there are better knives from ESEE, Bark River etc. but not at this price and I think the Garberg should work for my limited use. Seems like the current pricing for the Garberg is more in line than the original quotes that had it near the price of higher end knives.
