I wish i could wear a watch but my job doesnt allow me to wear one. It would just end up getting in my way and i might scratch or damage it. Im trying to get in the habit of wearing one on the one day i have off. I really want a tritium watch though. Sent From Another Dimension
Nothing crazy, i work in the Garden center of that big orange home improvement store. So im always loading bags of dirt, mulch, or stones. Dealing with plants specifically Christmas trees at the moment. And when bringing merchandise off the shelves theres always the chance of scraping or banging my arms into beams. Gets in the way of my gloves too. Not very watch friendly. Sent From Another Dimension
Went for years without wearing one and about a year ago I received a Gshock as a gift. Wear it every day now and don't pull out my phone to check the time. When I am hunting I can check the time with very little movement. Now I feel naked without a watch on.
I used to wear a Timex once in awhile when teaching. Since my Citizen Eco Drive arrived, I've been wearing it all day.
I only take mine off a couple times a year for cleaning, or if I need to stick my hand and arm somewhere that the watch don't fit. In fact, I took it off yesterday for the first time in months to replace the rear coolant flange on my Audi. Any Audi DIY mechanics around here would understand.
I would say that a watch is a necessity still these days.. at least for me.. I moved from my EcoDrive to a Pebble Time. I found that while I was checking my time on my phone, I was also eating up the battery significantly each time the backlight was turned on (90% of my battery usage was display). The addition of an activity meter, long battery life (compared to other smart watches), and notifications are also handy to have on your wrist.. I am debating a move to the Garmin Fenix 3, Sapphire .. but haven't been able to justify the price..
I feel weird not wearing my watch at work or out, but I don't worry about it at home Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
I could live without a watch. And I roundly hate the strap that is on my Timex. But I have been bittenby the watch bug and tried on a very nice Eco Drive. And it's only a matter of time until I at least get a new Timex or better! I do all communication with the office by text. So I don't absolutely need a watch. But I do feel naked without one.
Let's take this one step further--- I wear a watch when I sleep---sort of conditioned to-----anybody else??
King County Metro Transit Transit Operator's Rules and Procedures September 2015 8.03 Approved timepiece Operator timepieces must meet the following specifications: Face must be approximately the size of a quarter. Timepieces must be divided into minutes and have a second hand sweep. Digital watches are acceptable if they have a constant readout of hours, minutes and seconds.
This has never happened to me, but I understand some people feel nekked as a jaybird if they leave the house without a watch strapped to their wrist.
