New phone and looking for an app to keep all of my passwords close and secure. Suggestions?
If you're looking for one that covers web browsing I use and recommend lastpass.
I use SPB Wallet for a long time and just recently moves over to 1Password. Really like the design, look, and usability.
Plus it syncs via iCloud to other iOS devices and soon to Mac.
I would recommend two programs, depending on how you would like to use them:
- If you are a Mac owner and want something that works on all your devices and keeps everything in sync than take a look at '1Password'. It's quite expensive. But these guys are around for some time now and they are known to update their software continously. Also they described the software extensively on their website (how it works internally, what encryption mehtods are used etc.). And I wouldn't trust some obscure software to manage my passwords if I don't know what the software is doing with them.
Their website: https://agilebits.com/
- If you would like the 'low budget' version I would take a look at 'KeePass'. There are also Windows and Mac versions around. And the program is open source. Everybody is able to inspect the program code for hidden functions and/or back doors etc. KeePass also syncs between different devices.
I second 1 password, I have had it for years.
I use mSecure. No issues so far.
eWallet has worked well for me. Available on iOS, Android, Windows and MacOS and can sync using your local wifi (they have a cloud service but you don't need to use it). Advertises that they use decent encryption for your back end data files. Most importantly, it has been very reliable. I tried another application when iOS apps were just taking off and had a data corruption problem which is the last thing you want.
Actually, it's been on the Mac for years, and was ported to iOS, Android and Windows. It's not the cheapest, but rock solid. I used it for years back when it was Mac only, and gladly got the iOS version when it was released.
1Password , had it for years, since i had the iphone 3G.
Might look at LastPass I use it for everything.
I use LockBox - easy to use and lots of options.
another vote for 1password. Steve Gibson gave it a thumbs up on an episode of Security Now.
Been using 1Password for years now..
Updated often, great app, worth the $$.
I use KeePass - haven't used anything else to compare it to, though.
I use Keeper. Can sync with my iPhone, iPad and PC.
1Password here. I've used it for many years and never been disappointed. I have it synced to two different computers, two tablets, and my phone.
Again, 1Password. It is also a handy password generator, of whatever complexity you choose.
I use a spreadsheet app, with password protection... supports wifi transfers so I can manually move it to other devices for back-up.
keyring. u can email urself backups of all ur passwords. password protection, good organization.
If no one's mentioned it yet I'd go with 1Password. I just have the iphone version and backup regularly to my Dropbox account.
