Anybody else catch a lot of negative rep for posting their stuff on there? I posted a pocket dump as public by mistake and it got downvoted so fast it was amazing. I've started making all my edc lineup pics public, poking the bears and such. I invite you all to do the same, lets make "real" imgur people slightly frustrated by sensibly flooding their feed with gearporn.
When you publicly post an image or gallery on Imgur it goes into the "user submited" which is basically a mosh pit of every image from kittens to computers to "what the " to illegal images (yes CP has been found on occasion). Users can downvote images and send them to purgatory or upvote them, if an image or gallery gets enough upvotes it goes to the "front page" which is the page you see when you visit imgur.com. So it may not be that they hate the subject matter but instead that they don't think that it is worthy of being on the front page. That said it is frowned upon to try to crusade against another site or community.
I agree with Dr J. I don't see how you will accomplish anything on imgur. Focus instead on posting awesome EDC pictures somewhere where they will be appreciated.
