Well, I consider a SAK a multi-tool so I said MT. Swiss Army Huntsman Lite. Knife + LED + other goodies in one package.
The bare minimum is a knife. But a multi-tool with a good blade fulfills that need and is far more versatile. Hence, I'm a little torn on the subject. I voted knife.
I would say my charge ALX. It would be a flashlight but I find myself not always carrying one cause 70% of the time the light on my phone will do.
oddly enough i didnt realize how much i used my pen until i needed it today and had to find one on the ground. i had to leave mine there is no where secure to put my user on my pants
Victorinox Swiss Army Rucksack. My EDC knife. It comes in a one handed open version too but I chose this one because it is legal in more places I go and I have fast openers I can carry if I feel the need. I can (and have practiced) opening mine one handed (weak side) in case I have the need. It's not fast or pretty but it can be done. Locking blade a bit larger than most SAK. Locking is a safety thing. Can opener. Most of the time it is the only can opener in camp. Awl with eye, for repairs and projects. Saw, a good backup to my other two saws and one that is always with me. Good for night projects around the fire. Thin enough to ride in any pocket and be forgotten about till needed. Though not intended for defense, no one will rush you if you have it in play because they know they will get hurt. If you are skilled with a blade, very hurt. I always have a larger fixed blade "working" knife and hawk on me too, when I know I will be out for a few days. But I could, and have used this as my only knife when things did not go as planned. With a few mods/upgrades to make it mine, it is my last layer PSK. Add a handgun of my choice to my carry and I could homestead (LOL). A government that robs Peter to pay Paul can always depend on the support of Paul. I guess that makes me just a giant Peter.
Glasses. Before keys. Before phone. Before wallet. Hell, without my glasses, I frequently have difficulty finding my keys, phone, or wallet. (Yes, it's also a to find my glasses without glasses....) So, after the "essentials" and the "absolutely, positively gotta have it", I go for "multitool."
I don't understand the question. What do you mean one item? Are there people who carry only one item? What a weird question to ask on EDC forums... LOL Verstuurd vanaf mijn SM-G920F met Tapatalk
I would go back to carrying the Leatherman PST which has been consigned to my laptop bag since I got tired of it wearing a hole in my pockets --- I'd make or 3D print a rounded holder/sheath for it to prevent that.
Ok I'll play. A fixed blade for sure. Probably esee 4. But a lighter is always in my pocket. Does that count? Verstuurd vanaf mijn SM-G920F met Tapatalk
A knife. It IS a multitool (a cutter, a LIGHT pry tool, a scraper, an axe etc. you name it). A multitool is good, but won't do the job as a good, thick, sturdy knife.
