Anyone know of a knife like this with good steel? I love the look and shape but the reviews say that it wont cut butter and super loose.[IMG]

I was about to advise you to buy it anyway and try tweaking it. But I stopped after looking it up and read some of the negative reviews. Wow! Someone actually take time to design these and dropped the ball in a big way. Inexcusable! If they use decent steel and worked out the kinks, We would pay 4 times that.

Many of the ZT knives seem similar in style & design to me but are very well made too.

Kinda reminds me of my trusty Smith & Wesson Black Ops. Medium carbon 4034 stainless steel, assisted opening with a lock. Paid about $50 CAD for mine a few years ago. Not exactly high end by any means but it deploys perfectly every time and locks up like a bank vault. Despite having added some higher end blades to my rotation every once in a while I haul this thing out and it never disappoints.

For less than $100 you can still pick up a H&K Axis Tanto, in D2. Good steel, excellent lock. It isn't assisted open, but a simple pull back of the axis, small flick of the wrist and it's open, another pull back of the axis, and a flick of the wrist and it's closed. (one of the things I love best about Benchmade knives)

not a fan of tanto blades so i may be out of date, but Benchmade stryker is a good one. Gave a mini auto stryker as a gift that's still well loved years later.

Budget knives: Ontario Utilitac II Tanto or Cold Steel 20NST Pro-Lite Tanto. Either for around $30.00
