Just got a 2019 Silverado and looking for best way to keep a handgun in it. I have a concealed carry permit so no worries there. Mine has a cavernous center console which is the obvious place. My prior truck's center console was smaller and it actually helped prop the pistol up in a good orientation to grab it when needed. This center console is massive and pistol will simply rest in the bottom, but could slide or bounce around. There is also a small tray on the sides of the center console just the right of the driver's calf - a pistol could fit in that if placed upside down although I don't like the idea of the pistol bouncing around on the sights. A leather or nylon holster could pad it though.
IDK, that coin/glasses tray looks like it could be a pain for unobstructed access to the bottom area. I'd get a large (2'x4') piece to try different setups.
Magnet to hold gun where you want it and orientation you want would be what I’d consider for that application. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
piece of fairly thick plywood to fit bottom in bottom of tray, with enough "footprint" to hold the pistol upright.... pre drill a hole for a #16 penny nail with the head removed, tap in place.... orient at an angle. and far enough from front of console to get a good grip... slip a piece of clear plastic tubing over the nail... insert barrel over support
Or...buy a gun magnet mount it in a position to hold the pistol the way you’d like. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I've had my fair share of double sided tape fail including some of the nicer 3M, so I'd suggest occasionally checking the tape to insure that it's still holding strong.
