hi sometimes I want to reply to a specific person and I swear I have done that here and now I can't. Just hit reply in their message right?
If you haven't figured it out yet, here are some quick pics. I work in IT and find that some folks learn better from pics, so here they are, just in case.
If you want to post a reply that includes multiple quotes (that is, a quote from member A's post, and a quote from member B's post), simply click REPLY in member A's post-pane, then click REPLY in member B's post-pane. Both quotes will be placed in your reply. The result will look like this: To illustrate the fact that you can "edit" these quotes, you'll see that I didn't quote FL Woods Bum in its entirety (you might sometimes want to remove content that doesn't pertain to your reply, or choose not to include large or multiple images contained in the member's original post). Do quote as normal, then select unwanted text and/or image, and hit your keyboard's DELETE key. Bonus hint : to be taken to the original post that's been quoted by someone, click the small up-arrow next to quoted member's name.
okay, this is very similar to another forum I belong to. It is working with Mozilla. Can you think of an ie setting that may not be letting it work.
For some reason when I try to quote by clicking the "reply" in someones post, it just takes me to the black reply pane at the bottom without quotes.. I have to click the quote button on the tool bar and actually copy paste the persons post into the reply pane.. what gives? Using IE.. should I try chrome?
Possible to quote yourself??? Haven't been able to figure that one out; I've been linking back to the post using the info provided by clicking the post #...
You can do it that way, or the way to do it as a quote in another thread would to click reply and then copy and paste the result into the other thread.
Peer pressure left me long ago... (I'm wondering how nice those Cerakote HDS's look in person, hmmmm)
I had the same problem! I added edcforums.com to compatibility view settings and it fixed this problem!
