Posting pic's using Flickr. Step 1: To get a pic to show in a post you need to be signed into Flickr, then go to your photo-stream and select the picture you want to post. Step 2: To the right of the image should be an icon of a right turning arrow, click on it. Step 3: A box will pop up, select BBCode **DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP**. Step 4: Click on the size drop down box. Step 5: Select what size of the image you wish to post (Depending on your monitors size you may have to put your browser in full screen mode to see all of the size options) (NOTE: Xenforo forum software will shrink down oversize images to stop users from having to side scroll). Step 6: Click on the code bar (it should automatically select it all for you) **Ensure you have the entire code section** (If it does not highlight it all for you the easiest way to get it is to click on the text, using CTRL + A (select all) then going CTRL +C (Copy)) Step 7: Copy the block of text Step 8: Paste it directly into your post, which when pasted will look like this: Code: [url=https://flic.kr/p/o9L9EP][img]https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3855/14538994955_03d30de48a_b.jpg[/img][/url][url=https://flic.kr/p/o9L9EP]13 - WihWyER[/url] by [url=https://www.flickr.com/people//]Dr Jekell[/url], on Flickr - Enjoy - Here is a photo showing what it looks like in a post:
Due to Flickr changing how images are posted to forums on a regular basis I have posted the tutorial here & will change any other posts with it in them to link to here. I will do my best to keep it up to date.
thanks for posting that Dr Jekell, i know a lot of people are having a hard time with flickr's new format. heres what i do. i use Mac. 1) select picture 2) on the top left corner of the picture click "Actions" 3) thenn from the menu that drops click "View all sizes" 4) select picture size you want 5) right click then select "Copy Image" 6) post image and and insert after the code.
This is frustrating the crap outa me! I'm trying both methods from the Dr. and Tonester. I get so far and something deviates from the instructions! I do a copy/paste thing in an email to myself as a test so I don't mess up anyone's thread. When I try the Mac method and do step #6...Bam...The pic appears in my email. Nowhere to do the thing! I'll try it in an actual post to see if it acts the same as in the emails. I know it must be something simple. If I keep backing out of a post when it doesn't work, maybe I won't crap up this thread. Will Mac act differently than Windows 7? If this doesn't work, I'm goin' back to TX. A redneck always finds a way! Deerbnb, you really **** me off!- What'm I doin' wrong man? Will it work if I move to Tn?
Have just updated the OP as they have changed it again. Toadster - the method I detail here only works on a BBCode enable forum (I.E. 99.99% of forums). If you are having trouble just give it a try in this thread.
Testing 1 2 3 Test[/url][/IMG] Dang!:brickwall: Followed directions to the letter! Highlited the URL, Rt clicked on code to to copy, came over to my post, opened up the image box, pasted the URL into it and the above is what happens. Am I supposed to immediately see the photo if it worked right? I'll try again, but I don't want to junk up yer thread. BB code is "on". IMG_0173 (800x765) by Mr. Natural3, on Flickr This time I pasted the above URL directly into my post without opening up the Image Icon. Is that the way it's supposed to look? I'm afraid that when I hit "Save Changes" it'll blow me out of the water! It seems to have worked...Now I gotta go back and remember what I did! Sooooo, to add more images just go thru the same sequence in the same post? BTW, Thank you guys for lettin' me guinea pig ya! If y'all don't mind I'm gonna try 'er again.....
Test II Hope this works... IMG_0136 (800x372) by Mr. Natural3, on Flickr IMG_0034 (800x549) by Mr. Natural3, on Flickr YES!!!! I swear I've tried the exact same sequence and it didn't work before!! Thanks for the help guys! Now I'll go out and see if I can do some damage out there!
Ah that clears that mystery up. You just paste the code into your post no need to use any of the buttons along the top of the box.
I use Dropbox to kind of host images it just gives a link but is there a way actually have it show up as a picture on the forum?
Is it something like www,madeupaddress,com/images/somefile.jpg? If it is then you can use the "insert/edit image" button in the rich text editor (it looks like a picture of a tree)on the bottom row fourth from the right. Just copy the entire link & paste it into the pop up box & away you go.
thank you that clears up a lot! Also since I mostly use the tapatalk app to post do you know how to do it from there?
There is not a lot of info out there but it looks like you need to use the tapatalk image hosting (as EDCF does not allow members to host images on the forum). Apparently when you are in the "reply to topic" page you can choose to insert an image that is "tapatalk hosted". It may be in the advanced options. Link 1 Link 2 Link 3 - Pretty good info here Link 4
