Oh dude. We had those in my school in the mid 80´s. There were different designs and layouts.
I had one with transformers on it. What a flashback!

Nice find, I tried to find one on ebay, the model I had as a kid.

    :)

I had something similar as a kid in the mid 1980s, but mine was styled as a robot, with spring loaded compartments in the limbs and torso for erasers, ruler, markers, etc.

Its a pen-case with a lot of gadgets incorporated. Its spring activated in the mechanisms, i remember these from classmates, this whas the shiznitz back in the day, it was all very high tech and futuristic. Only the coolest kids had one and they were cool because of the case, basically. It was the ZT 0566 (or what its called) of those times :D

I was a kid in the 80's/90's and have never seen one either. Maybe not an American thing? I remember Trapper Keepers being popular briefly, but not this.

Hmmm, no idea, in school in the 80's I had better things to do than worry about pen cases...

Yeah, I've never seen anything like this and I was a gadget junkie as a kid. I would have remembered something this funky.

yeah, and nowadays one sits thinking that all those pens, erasers and stuff would be better off dumped in a drawstring cloth bag - less points of failure ;) reliability analysis kills lots of fun
