The wire keychains (although not red) can be bought from CountyComm- $2 for 6" or $3 for 12"
Lowe's Hardware has the red, and blue coated ones.
Thanks guys. I can find a bunch of wire keychains in the 6 inch length, but I'm trying to find some that are short enough to replace my 1 inch metal splitrings.
I don't know of any wire loops that small, probably just due to them being too difficult to fasten at that length. Perhaps you could put them into one of the upper holes on the Pickpocket to adjust the length? I'm not really sure what that would do to the balance, though.
If you do go with a wire keychain, get a Luck Line Flex-O-Loc. They are a good small item to add to Amazon orders, or you can get them at many locksmiths. They are stiffer, easier to open, and stay closed better than the so-called 'aviation cables'.
New simple titanium one I did while bored this afternoon.
Did you need to heat it up to bend it?
still trying to find the right ergos etc for my keychain. Just changed it up today. I hate that my truck has the key and the fob....just bulks up my keychain! And I hate having to carry more than one keychain.
Sounds like it's Dremel time, if you ask me...
Maybe wear the fob on a neck lanyard? Out of the pocket and off the keychain, but still convenient and usable.
Great suggestion, however, I also cannot stand to have anything hanging around my neck!!
Yeah, I'm with you on that. I hate it more in my pocket, so ended up just leaving the fob in a drawer. Have to lock/unlock with a key, but at least I don't have the bulk anymore. Got used to it pretty quickly.
I have considered this. I do have the keypad lock on my door, but have never used it. I think I will try and use that first, and then eliminate the fob as well.
This is how I rock my keys when not working.
While working, I safety pin the keys to the inside of my right front breast pocket.
Sent from my LG-D855
Current keychain setup, which hangs in my front right pocket. It lays better in the pocket when it's not all spread out for a photo.
How do you like your Orbitkey?
I love the Orbitkey. I've tried almost every key-holder gadget I could get my hands on, including several ones from Kickstarter, and the Orbitkey has all of them beat in my opinion. It has a slim profile on my keychain for what it is, and you can get to the keys from either side. The leather has held up much better than I thought it would but the elastomer version is probably even more durable.
My keys at work... of course, they go IN the pocket, but you wouldn't be able to see them.....
