I bought seconds, along with the extenders, and they work great. They say the rubber o-ring might not last as it gets squeezed in the thread wrong, but I have seen no indication of that.

Also, do a search for delrin battery holder, and you will find some nice ones that fit on a keychain for aaa, aa, and cr123

Another great and cheap option are the go-tubes from oscar delta in the UK. You can cut them to size.

REI also carries those orange waterproof match containers. theres even a thin piece of ferro rod on the bottom side.

i usually carry extra batteries, in extra lights.

Thanks for all the suggestions. That is what I like a about this place. So many people with so many different means to the same end. I had never heard of the storacell and it never came up on my Google or Amazon searches. I never thought about using a Plano box. I thought of altoids tin, tobacco tin, and even tried to find the right size tupaware bowl, but pelican or Plano never once crossed my mind lol. Decided to go with this.

It is a double sided Plano 3449-22. It will allow me not only store extra flashlight batters but with a little modification I can store extra camera and cell phone batteries. Plus it was only 4 bucks. It's not water tight but it'll provide some non conductive protection from other gear in my bag.
    Thanks again for the input.

Another option I use, because I don't carry spare batteries, is carry 2 or more flashlights. One goes flat? No worries, take the second one out. Not necessarily 2 full sized ones, but like one 18650 and one AA one
    Redundancy :p

CountyComm have these things they call "Tube Vaults". These are the blanks that are usually inflated vacuum formed to be 2-litre soda bottles. In the uninflated form, the are incredibly sturdy, waterproof, and will hold 2x18650 cells or 4xCR123 cells.

Looks like a good choice given your variety of batteries. A nice side feature is that it's transparent so you can see what you have in it, etc.. Good luck and let us know how it works out long term!

These are heavily used as geocaching containers and come in different sizes. Look for “PET preform” or “PETling”.

That's really helpful, thanks. Being transparent they're exactly what I need. I've just ordered ten for £9, on eBay. :)

@ twoisone Nice to see these reaching the USA....exactly what I use for RCR123 :)

I wrap the single CR123 in a piece of inner tube to stop the rattle, also provides a bit of tinder at the same time.

I know this question wasn't for me but Walmart has them over in the camping section. Best containers for the money.

    Works for me !

forget trying to find the spare battery, and then install it - much easier to just get out the spare light and carry on.
plus you have a spare light you can lend.

my HDS Twisty is really just a spare battery carrier for my HDS Clicky.

I use vacuum sealer bags. The bags are cut to fit the batteries and sealed but not vacuum sealed. I was concerned that the vacuum could possibly damage them. [IMG]
