Thought the PD35 would be too huge for pocket carry but it's amazing what fits in the front pocket of your jeans comfortably.

Not really. Those actually exist, and while they sort-of work; the quality is barely decent at best.

i've seen some, but never handled one. do you have first-hand experience? now and then, ll bean will have one in their catalog. i assumed they were emergency lights at best. in my reply, i meant a nice flashlight.

Yup, I own one which I bought at a .99 Cent Store.

Used it for awhile. It worked. Output was barely decent. But the whole thing was made out of plastic, including the wind-up handle. Just felt cheap and flimsy all around. If you find one for just a couple of dollars, I'd say it's worth picking up one, just in case there's ever a long-term blackout and you need some light at night. More than a couple of dollars, not worth it at all.

I would love to see a quality hand crank light. Actually I want a squeeze light so it could be used one handed

I keep seeing these and hearing everyone absolutely rave about them, I might just have to check it out at some point. There are some items that I just cannot understand people spending so much on, no matter how popular they might be, but I feel like this little flashlight might be the exception for me.

how are you liking it so far?
