https://www.williamhenry.com/gentac-silver-warrior.html Would anybody buy this or is it just a flashy piece of jewelry, I'd personally rather have a rockstead or shirogorov. What do you think?
I don’t think I could stomach parting with that much cash for a blade. Not even if I was a lottery winner. If it had history behind it maybe but not for a one off edition. It is very nice though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
In a second if I had the money. Maybe not that one but I've been loving William Henry stuff my whole life.
The only thing I might add, that this is jewelry. A tchotchke, if you will Sent from my Glade Air Freshener
Money no option? Rockstead, Shirogorov, BM Gold class, a custom build to my exact spec, you name it. But not that... Unless I get the sudden urge to live in a Bavarian castle and wear a spider silk cravat to dinner.
Awesome piece of artwork. I love William Henry knives and own quite a few but this one is out of my price range. If I had the disposable income of this level I would buy it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It is beautiful.... But if the and one needed to use it to live, than how much is it worth. Five hundred dollars, maybe less. To me there is a dollar limit to fancy. But that's my opinion. Lateck,
Is it weird that I’d rather have one like this if money was no option. Texas tool crafters. I don’t really even like gold. Maybe rose gold plated titanium with feather Damascus blade. Ooohhhh. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Those multitools like to get the Mars fever when they get close to sea water. Best to protect against it with more resilient coatings like gooooooollllldd.. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
Plus, just the thought of damascus steel surviving near salt water? Maybe I should be more specific -- surviving and being usable? Naaaah. L'chaim! Moshe ben David
Who said anything about salt water? My main concern is the weird patina created as a result of when @ThaMac ‘s dry heaves turn wet. Anyway, the OP is a pretty knife. But with $75k, you could buy a lot of plane tickets to a lot of amazing places and not check a bag on a single flight because you can just buy a new Benchmade at every destination. For way less than $75k, I could put together a custom knife collection that would put any WH to shame.
I was curious about WH, Gentac in particular! So....bought one....worst knife ever!! Long story short. Blade was off center, both side grind(spine, primary and secondary)not identical, and rubbing one side of handle. Took it apart, and was not surprise it had Teflon washers...so, to eliminate any play, I machined and replaced with equal thickness PH washers. Although it no longer rub side but I no longer interested in any knife from WH! To satisfy my affinity for laminate Japan steel, I chose Rockstead instead...first was a Shin..followed with Tei..Shun..now Ryo. Oh... but Ryo is not laminated! Main thing is-no more WH!!
Why didn't you send it back for replacement? At such a price these things shouldn't happen but still any producer/resaler deserves a second chance. Or you go to a real shop and check it before you buy it.
