Hey Microbe, thanks for the kind compliment. :)
I'd always prefer a little less colour but the never ending EDC journey must always include some form of need and want ...

Hi HF. I love your posts. Amazing gear and I really like how you list the items in your spread. I have a question about your Emerson mini A 100. Is the Gray Precision Ti ThumbDisk the "regular" size or the "monster" size? I want to replace the stock thumbdisk on my A 100 and yours looks really great!

Hi V7S, thanks for the kind words and checking out my EDC thread.
The GP Ti thumb disk is not the "monster" size. I asked John Grimsmo to take a slight scallop from the clip side Dragon scale to assist LH opening. That seems to work well with the regular size thumb disk for me.

    Thanks Gents, :)
I'd planned at some stage to visit DCF's shop as it isn't a long way away, by Ocker standards, from my roof so had quickly done a Google street view last year sometime. Anyway on the weekend had travelled to Thiene, the town where DCF's shop is for some other reason and got caught up so decided to have dinner there. I had completely forgotten DCF's shop address and whilst walking down one of the main drags ... Bam ! ... I'd never been to Thiene before but hey I know that shop. It didn't take long for the penny to drop so skillfully left most of the family behind and snuck into meet DCF and check out a box of goodies. He's a cool dude  and said he'll even make OPMT to measure from an email sketch or plan.

    - The Damascus blade material holds good sharpness and makes getting a super fine edge relatively easy. I usually use a Sypderco UF ceramic stone and strop with green abrasive compound (stropman) to finish the edge for EDC.
    KEYS:
+ TEC Accessories Snap Ring 1/2"
    + S300 large Swampo swivel
+ Small Bean Style Nickel Clip Hook Snap
+ Retractable coil lanyard - 2 ply 1.2mm 70kg nylon in paracord shell - by Yours truly
    - The Swampo swivel works well to stop any coil lanyard twist when using the keys.
    LIGHTS:
    Matchbox Instruments HF-R Titanium (raw)
    + 10250 LI Battery body - Titanium
+ STT 5 Position tail switch - Titanium with 1 x Green Tritium vial
+ ZoomHead (emitter = Cree XPG2) with internal 3 x Green Tritium vials - Titanium
    - I upgraded the STT switch to a 5P from 3P. The lowest 5P setting is a plus. The whole setup gives good short and excellent long range performance in a very small package.
+ TEC Accessories S323 Isotope with green Tritium vial
    - Maybe not the most aesthetically fashionable lantern but it makes for excellent Tritium tube visibility and protection.
+ McGizmo SS Nano Clip ~ 20 mm
    Quantum DD
    + 2 x Ice Blue Tritium vials
    - The cut race bike tube “Ranger Band” keeps things quieter and adds to friction for twist operation.
    + Nite-Ize S-Biner #0.5 black
    - This clip is secured with some shrink wrap insulation. Over some years of experience it has proven very reliable.
    MULTITOOL:
    Victorinox SAK Manager black
    - The included retractable ball pen is very convenient.
+ McGizmo SS Nano Clip ~ 20 mm
    TTPocketTools Capper (G2) - Titanium
    - The bottle opener and screw driver end work very well.
    MC Chain master link
+ FM1 spreader - Titanium by Gamble Staempfli
    PHONE:
    iPhone 5s
    + Apple leather case
    - I’ve been disappointed with this case. The case chassis near the lightening port broke needing some repair to stop the whole case loosing tension. It had not suffered a hard life and caved nonetheless. Poor material choice and design.
    WALLET:
Wrap Wallet - black leather - Kickstarter - David Jackson
    - It’s a super light, thin and compact tri-fold wallet.
    WATCH:
Davosa - Argonautic Dual Time PVD - Reference: 161.512.80
    - After many under water adventures the watch remains rock solid and the black coating has been robust.

Thanks for visiting my thread Kye.
:) I enjoy thinking about how to make edc work better for my particular circumstances. It makes for time saving satisfaction when it works out in the field, office or home.
Learning from others, trying to innovate, buying, trying and discovering gear and arrangements that work is a real part of the rewarding fun of edc for me.

HF’s Pocket Rig Sprint Run 161115

I’ve been using various pocket danglers for some time with payloads comprising a light and SAK.
My use case more often than not involves a short unexpected application of either the light and or tool. That means having to remove either from the dangler is a negative.
In an effort to make operation with the dangler attached less awkward I tried fitting a swivel. That worked for the better but there was still a lack of flexibility in the rig which sometimes led to the tools becoming tangled of sorts. Certainly not the end of the world, but that meant another step before use.
Subsequently some means of adding more compliance to the rig led me to the pics below. Essentially it involved fastening the dangler, swivel and spreader via a form of “paracord rivet”.
Side benefits of the paracord rivet beyond some controlled compliance at the joint are that the rig sits more comfortably in the pocket and they shorten the overall length compared to my previous attempts where a chain master link was used to combine the swivel and dangler.
Installing the rivets is a quick and simple process. I think you can see part of the Leatherman MiniTool plier pivot imprinted on one rivet. That is what I used to push the rivet head flat after heating it with a butane lighter.
I’ve been using this setup full time for a couple of weeks and the paracord rivets are holding up just fine. The extra compliance in pocket and especially in hand definitely work better.

Interesting solution, HF. It's not very attractive (IMO), but it looks functional.

Another option could be to use a 'zip tie rivet'. It's the same principle, but you cut the head off of zip tie #1, thread zip tie #2 through a hole, put the dettached head of zip tie #1 onto ziptie #2, snug it up, and trim the loose end of zip tie #1 flush with the head of zip tie #2.

Fair comment JE regarding the aesthetics. With some effort I’m sure the rivet head could be made much neater (similar to the approach I used on aglets) with a form but this version is really a first proof of concept. I wanted to test the joint compliance and rivet robustness.
    Thanks for the ziptie suggestion.
One important part of my solution is the joint flexibility afforded by the paracord. I’d have to try a ziptie to see if that characteristic prevails.
