Bart, I looked at a few more traditional versions made from leather before deciding on the Maxpedition Tactical Travel Tray. Pros ... it was generally cheaper than the leather versions. The traditional type don't usually have inbuilt pockets, elastic strap or velcro hooks. The Maxped TTT seemed larger than most other traditional offerings. It also has press-studs at each corner so will unhitch to go completely flat for transport or storage. The only things I'd add would be a couple of hooks on the back corners so it could be used when unhitched and hanging vertically and make the base a little more rigid. Cons ... well it doesn't have the suave, quality hand built leather feel or smell to it, but that's OK. Overall, it's proven to be better than I expected. Firstly because some of the YT reviews made me sceptical and secondly didn't realise how much use it would end up getting. On the second point, sometimes it's like Ruby: The Adventures of a Galactic Gumshoe (1982), when she disarms in front of the sisters Onoffon and Offonoff (track 23 of 65). For those who have never heard of or heard Ruby, here's a sample … I've been using a couple of them for nearly a year now and have no regrets. HTHs with your buying decision.
Hi CB, Thanks for the complement. It's design has aged well and is actually one of the earlier versions and my preference. I've used later models too but they have some subtle differences, like being marginally thicker. The older versions also have symmetrical type display size top and bottom, whereas the later and current models have a larger bottom display. The way all the functions work from just one crown is a standout feature for me.
I think that's what took me at first, it's slim profile! I like the two tone too, very understated. Sent from Catherine's iPhone using Tapatalk.
HF's Modded Charge TTi 020315 This is the result of putting a LM Rebar plier set onto a LM Charge TTi chassis. It's relatively straight forward but does need some grinding of the plier head as there is minor fouling with the folded scissors. Rebar plier head pros are it has removable CPM154 cutting blades and is sans a cap crimper. A con IMHO is that the Surge plier heads are roughly finished overall compared to the TTi's. Whilst disassembling my oldest and most thoroughly and mercilessly thrashed TTi a chassis crack was evident. Bo hoo

Thanks E, I much prefer to write with a fountain pen whenever possible. IMHO it's easier on the hand and quicker to get those words down. Even more so the more words there are. Certainly, not every environment is suitable for a FP so I enjoy when it's possible to give them an EDC go.

It most certainly is not. Else I'd be in countless violation of the TheMarketPlace BST forum. So instead, waddayareckon ... just slide them lot off into the passaround box?
The Crypto was one of the less popular, but in my case most used Atwoods, the open wrench is very handy for lite tasks.
Agreed about its utility. The Crypto is however a little tricky to carry hanging on a clip as it rotates or lists awkwardly. Consequently when she goes out, it is often in one of my Maxpediton wallets. My Pry Baby G5b travels the same way but its thinness is a plus for that. IIRC your Crypto has a custom made to measure wallet hide ride. Nice one!
You are correct and it is awesome that way. I don't carry the wallet as much as I did in the past have kinda downsized and streamlined my on person carry.
Very cool, HF! I'm left wondering if this picture has a higher $ value of goodies or the one with all the Chris Reeves knives over in warchild's thread?
