Just a heads up to both you none colour guys Heywood Floyd and microbe you both may have already seen them but Syph has listed some blackout Spartans for sale on MTO, I know the spartan isn't very exiting but it looks cool nonetheless!!

Both Syph and RicknFL are using blackout tools at the moment and have shown some fantastic style.
If one of them would accidentally build a no color Wilderness, I would snatch it up in a heartbeat.

Thanks very much G. Appreciate the thought. I'm subscribed to his thread so did see it but nonetheless thanks again.
I've given him a specific build commission but it needs a DLC process not BO. He said it would take a while and it's not like there's nothing in my tool box to cut with so I can wait, no problem.
Ha, it's sort of like the quest for the perfect black body SAK. The one where no light can escape. ;)

    G'day U42,
Google translate is treating you well ... :)
All pretty good this end thanks.
Still a while to go before my assignment is complete and new island booty gets unpacked.

    MULTITOOLS:
    Leatherman Charge TTi
    Leatherman Crunch
    Victorinox SwissTool Spirit

Am currently in itinerant mode so my more dedicated tools are not easily accessible. Consequently multitools have been up at bat.

In the pics the job ended up being done by the lightest weight LM Crunch. The TTi's universal driver was too long to give reasonable access and pliers too pointy to get enough grip. The Spirit's pliers faired better and helped get the self tapping screws a little ways in. The Crunch's locking pliers holding a compact LM Philips bit won the day.

    HF's Silver Cadet 081014
    [IMG]
MULTITOOL: Victorinox SAK Cadet Alox silver
    + Aluminium lanyard bead
+ cKc small hone - AISI 01 Tool Steel

I hammered my silver Cadet yesterday cutting up cardboard. In the process did two steel sharpenings (30-40 secs each including entry and exit of pit lane). Overall it performed better than I expected. There was some building debris included which wouldn't have helped the edge.
The Cadet is mightier than I gave it credit for.

Actually street price is way lower than the more often quoted LM brethren mid size multitools. I've mentioned a few times that the Crunch, and no longer in production, Mini-Tool are LM multitools underated by many users.
Yes ... I'd like a BO Crunch too ... ... but AFAIK they were never made.
    Please let me know otherwise.

I did use SAK for cardboard cutting too. Despite the soft edge, the blade is fantastic for slicing.

Now that's a LOT of work for that Cadet!
My silver Cadet is in my front/right pocket pretty much every day.

Agreed Glo, Even as the blade loses it's razor sharpness the thin full flat ground profile geometry still allows low resistance slicing. I had larger alternatives for that small job but they stayed on the bench.

Hey misterS, I reckon the mighty little Cadet could have gone a lot farther too dissecting cardboard boxes.
Having the little steel, or access to something similar like say the spine of a multitool saw, really extended the range. The time penalty to touch up or maintain the edge was probably if anything even less than I noted and made for continued effortless slicing.
