Does anyone know of a good rugged large backpack that would compare with the kelty redwing tactical 44? This pack will be used mainly for holding personals and some clothing for work travel along with my suitcase. Also may use it as a rangebag every once in a while. It doesn't need to be super lightweight just be tough and be able to last being thrown around a bucket truck and cluttered pickups. Lower budget options would be nice if yall know of any. Top dollar I want to spend is about 150. Trying to stay away from the backpack camping sacks as well. They are just to thin usually

Take a look at the LA Police Gear 3 Day Backpack 2.0. It comes in at 42L, so basically the same size as the Redwing 44. I bought one a while back on sale for $25.99 (regular price is $42.99). I haven't loaded mine yet, but my plans are to use it as an extra car bag when I'm traveling in my brother's vehicle. Construction seems solid and reviews are good.

I would grab the Camelbak BFM that they have on sale at Camelbak!
I would buy one now if I didn't already have one for this price!
These are both rugged and light weight somehow!?
I just can ot imagine more serious pack for the money.

I got mine from a Military guy back from the Sand Box though there was plenty of the Sand Box still in the bag when I got it and it is just a really, really nice bag as are each of the Camelbak that I have.

    Run and check it out!

I was actually kind of hoping to stay away from the molle webbing. Want to keep it kind of low profile looking.

I second this. If it’s still on sale, it’s hard to beat.

Gotcha. Maybe something from High Sierra or Northface? I have a High Sierra backpack that I've used for travel. It has held up very well. You should be able to find something in your size range that would work.

    • Mystery Ranch Scree (32L, but fits more like 35L, i've had the Kelty Redwing Tactical 44 and the scree fits just slightly less) - 420D Robic Nylon, almost as tough as cordura
    • Mystery Ranch Coulee 40 (40L) - 420D Robic Nylon, almost as tough as cordura
    • Mystery Ranch Mission Duffel 40L, made of super durable 1000D Nylon, backpack carrying option (carries as much as the Kelty)
    • Vanquest IBEX 35 (35L, Entire pack is padded, would be good for the range) - 500D/1000D Cordura
    • Vanquest Skycap 46 (46L) - 500D/1000D Cordura
    • LAPG 3 day (42L) - 600D Polyester (meh but good for price)

I ended up ordering the kelty 44 tactical and I love it so far, sweet colors and has enough organization for me and what I will do with it. Thanks for all the suggestions though
