No problem my EDC brother!
Thanks for that... Yes it will fit just fine for me! With the case I have it is only 8 1/8" wide... Hmmm now to decide on the color. Prob black since it will be taken to work as well
Would it be too much to ask for to see how this bag carries? I mean how it looks when you have it on. Too me, it’s hard to tell the size just by the measurements and from the pic’s of the bag by itself. I’m getting more and more intrigued by the Kato.
mine is on its way!
You can ask... ;D
Actually, I was thinking when I first did the review that nobody ever does that and wouldn't that be a good thing to add. Maybe I will get my son to take a couple of pics. The wife would just roll her eyes if I asked her to do that.
Call me a purist but that's exactly what I'm saying. I don't care what firearm, safeties, or carry condition, I don't like my muzzle going anywhere I didn't intend it. That includes at anybody behind me in line at the grocery store (shoulder rig) or at my own femoral artery or other bits (appendix carry). I look at it this way, if an unknown person with an unknown gun in an unknown condition were carrying in a manner that would make me nervous, I'm not gonna do it because I don't want to be that guy.
All I'm saying is that I wouldn't use this bag for firearms carry. Otherwise it looks like a great bag and it's now on my short list. 3.1" is a bit narrow for a full size DSLR (4.5" or so) but it might still work with a bit of a bulge.
That three strap arrangement looks interesting. I too would like to see an action pic.
Thank you very much for nice review! (first all around the world )
Please, can you make a photo Kato with admin pocket open and A4 paper for comparison. Civilianlab said it's very tight to fit. Isn't it? Thanks.
Thanks GrBear. Sorry, I'm not sure I get you. A4 paper inserted where in the admin exactly? The clear map pocket or somewhere else?
I'm such a bad influence around here.
Directly in the admin pocket, not in the map pocket.
Just joined the club and ordered one of these in coyote... Can't wait for it to arrive.
Well, in that case I hope your son (and you) is up for it. opcorn:
A piece of A4 paper will not fit in that pocket or the map pocket. It's about a half inch too narrow.
Yeah, sorry. I'll get on it and post a few pics sometime this week. Work schedule has been hectic and both my sons have been sick with the flu.
"I don't care if you're sick. Get your out of bed and come take some pics of Dad and his new bag." Yeah, didn't want to be that guy. Wouldn't win me any father of the year awards.
One negative I've noticed with continued use of the Kato is the material is a magnet for cat hair and lint. You can actually see evidence of that in many of the pictures I posted. It was in my house for a day or two when I posted most of them.
Full disclosure: I have two cats including one long haired twenty pound Norwegian Forest Cat/Dog/Snow Monster named "Bumble". So, my case is probably an extreme one but still thought it worth mentioning.
It's a pity. (
Thank you for your help!
Yes you are! Beautiful bag!
Got mine today. Back pocket is a perfect fit for my Asus transformer and keyboard dock. Still trying to figure out the rest of the load out but this looks great for a airplane carry on bag (weekly flyer here)

Here is my load out for the molle panel. Pretty much utilizing every inch of space with this setup...
The Maxpedition Volta case and the Leatherman pouch hold my multi-tool and extra bits. I also have a small flashlight attached to the Volta. The de-badged Maxpedition key keeper has my USB Drive and ResQme window breaker/seat belt cutter. My Streamlight Stylus sits in a holster on the right side.
I attached a Maxpedition Phone Holster to the Flip Pouch since I'm now using the pocket under the Flip Pouch for my work ID and lanyard.
