So, I've been on here for 3 years now so it's about time I started my own page :)

My 'thing' is underground exploration mainly, this includes abandoned mines, drains, sewers, culverts, tunnels, military bunkers and anything else that takes my fancy, I am also into (in varying degrees of activity)..Mountain Biking, Photography, Great Outdoors and 'being prepared' although I'm not what you would call a full blown Prepper.

The plan for this page is to post up my EDC loadouts, pocket dumps, gear 'evolution', new toys etc.

So, as mentioned above I play in the dark a lot, this means flashlights of various sorts either specific stuff for photography/video or just 'big and bright'.

I don't buy them to covet and caress, I buy them to use them and abuse them in hostile environments, so here's what's currently in the inventory (roughly left to right):

    Underwater Kinetics Vizion head torch.
Zebralight SC600 MkII on Cetacea Landyard Coil (saves expensive 'plops' in flooded mines.
    Thrunite Catapult V2 (SST50 flavour)
    Unknown alu thing
    Led Lenser P7.2
    Led Lenser P7
    Led Lenser P3
    Four Sevens Mini ML XP-G2
    Sunwayman Sirius MR11R Ti
    Thrunite TiKey
    Led Lenser P3
    Foursevens Quark RGB
    Led Lenser 'something or other'
    Underwater Kinetics Mini Q40
Underwater Kinetics Aqualite (90 degree head) on UK Pro FlexGrip
    Led Lenser P1
    Pelican Strobe
    Underwater Kinetics UK2AAA
Surefire E2D Executive Defender (old non LED style)
    5000K video lights (x4)
    Maglite 'something or other'
    Led Lenser P7
    Petzl MYO XP head torch
Random Mini Maglite head found in bottom of flashlight storage crate

I don't own many blades but here's a few I could find today while the sun was out:

    Zero Tolerance ZT 0300
    Spyderco 79mm Rescue (lost clip)
    Spyderco Native FRN
    Spyderco Jason Breeden Captain
Boker Plus Nano 42 (slip joint)
Couple of old SAK's I never use...not sure what the guy on the left is, think the one on the right is a Champ (maybe  )

2014 for me has been all about going minimalist on my EDC and one of the best guys making great SWC products is Oscar Delta SPD here in the UK and I use a lot of his stuff.

This is called an MCA (Multi Carry Attachment) and is a variation on a theme, I particularly like the 'steampunk' blackened look of these and own a few...

Finally and seeing as I have been waffling on for too long and probably gotten you bored this is my first pocket dump (daily work stuff)

Designed primarily for SERE/E&E kit Deep Carry Tubes (no looped cap) which come in various sizes and Go Tubes (looped cap) have an external diameter of 20mm and internal diameter of 16mm and have a variety of uses.

The phrase behind the core design use is 'an item that cannot be found, cannot be taken' and if that isn't already obvious (but your brain is telling you it **might** be) then yes they would be lightly lubricated and pushed where the sun doesn't shine in the event of imminent capture

A standard GoTube can hold a diamond wire blade, folding razor saw, ceramic razor blade, button compass and a SOLAS/GITD signalling disc but will also fit AA batteries, SIM cards, $$ bills, glow sticks, 25ft of 200lb kevlar etc. etc and they're airtight/watertight/dust proof.

Also shown here are GoTube Micro's with GITD disc which I use for 8 hour mini glow sticks.

The following picture is what I hang inside any bag that I take out - 550 breakaway cord with a standard and Micro GoTube, the 'micro' just has 7 x 8 hour glows and the 'standard' has button compass, SOLAS/GITD signalling disc, folding razor saw and 4 hour glow.

As you can imagine their use is limited only by your imagination and for the record I DONT 'deep carry' these.;)

If I am underground in flooded mines/drains I carry spare 18650's in a GoPouch 46 (Internal 85mm x 110mm), relatively puncture resistant and 100% watertight if you heat seal them.

FastTech sells 2×18650 waterproof battery cases. They look like small tupperware boxes, and you can use them for CR123A, too. I use them for geocaching.

Nice pics of some well used gear! I've been on the fence about picking up an Underwater Kinetics Vizion headlamp. What's your impression, since yours has obviously been used in more extreme environments?

Its a nice headlamp and lighter than the Petzl, to be honest I've never gotten it wet (it it supposed to be watertight), its nice being able to twist to shift the beam and the red filter comes in handy, it also takes up less space than the Petzl.

Normally my main light is a Speleo Technics Nova+ (fixed to a caving helmet) but if I'm travelling light, or in drains where nothing will fall on my head I'll take this or the Petzl. One of these is also Backup1 for the Speleo Technics (Backup2 + 3 carried too!!).

I'm planning on doing a separate post about underground lights, bit off topic for this site but might be useful to some people.

Which holes do you hide in venturing out of the more or less midlands?

anywhere in the UK but there's plenty right here too :)
Caved (spelunked for the US guys) in Wales, Derbyshire, Yorkshire and Cumbria, mines pretty much anywhere and drains anywhere there's a lid to flip and a big enough pipe.

Continuing with my minimalist crusade I decided to flip my beloved R12 and downsize to a Kifaru E&E. I noticed that I carried a whole bunch of stuff around in the R12 that never ever got used so what's the point?

The Kifaru E&E is literally millimeter perfect, any smaller and it would not have worked for me. Inside the E&E is a Lock N Load #10...will maybe do some loadout pix another time (it's quite boring though....work stuff mainly).

The other minor changes on the E&E are X-Ray Strap upgrade and some 'ranger bands' to tidy up the straps.

Just before I packed the R12 up for eBay shipping I fired off some quick side by side shots as I know this will be useful for some people. First three pix without the 500D Kifaru Organizer, last few with it attached, just so you can see the profile.

Final pic is the R12 on a slightly overweight (180lb/5'10") random person found wandering in my yard (lie )
