Yep, Friday is a sad day indeed. The last one made is going to be a 90 soft top in Keswick Green for "Mr Land Rover" Roger Crathorne, here it is on the production line before being painted.......note how there is no more in the queue behind It takes 3 days to build one and normally a complete one rolls off the production line every 4 minutes.
What do you think to the 2018 'New Defender' being touted around as 'the most capable yet'? (apart from it being butt ugly...)
As far as I'm aware everything reported so far is just speculation but it won't look like the concept pictures that have been around for a while. Land Rover are being very hush-hush about the whole thing so far, even at the LR show at Peterborough the staff had a PR guy very close to them to make sure nothing was said that shouldn't be!!
Jaguar is owned by the company that makes $100 cars!?!? I'm so out of the loop. Soon there'll only be 2 car companies.
Haha! Yep, can't knock what they've done with the companies. Ford bought them and sold them to BMW, BMW then sold them to Tata but kept the "Mini" side of the business hence they are now BMW Minis
When they make the new one I wonder, really really wonder if it will be sold in the North America market. Please.
It really is, I would love one of the old ones, there have been a few imported but finding one for sale is like hunting down unicorn tears and the prices are pretty crazy as well.
I'm not sure I would risk it, the customs are pretty keen nowadays and crush any that come in that aren't totally original, unfortunately mine doesn't have the original engine, not sure if this would be an issue or not.
They crush imported cars? Am I missing something here? Also as if you'd ever part with yours! Fnar! Sent from Catherine's iPhone using Tapatalk.
In the US most definitely yes. Land Rover Defenders are only allowed there if over 25 years old and they fetch big bucks. Lets just say, a lot went over there with 25 year old registration numbers but were a lot newer!! The customs caught on and clamped down heavily on it, not only crushing newly arrived ones but finding ones that already passed through customs and crushing them!
If it is not all original Canada will turn it back and never allow it in. If you take a Canadian Vehicle out of the country and have it modified they can refuse it entry until it is returned to original.
What's the justification behind that? That seems awful daft. Why would you crush something so beautiful and leave ugly cars to drive freely?! Sent from Catherine's iPhone using Tapatalk.
