Just found out about this. I really think this is an upgrade that has been overdue for years now. I'm pretty excited. Had I not just ordered another, more expensive blade, I would be ordering one right now. Very cool mix with the Grey and Blue G10 handles. Finally Benchmade has upgraded the Griptilian line, which I consider one of their best all around knife designs regardless of blade shape, to a better handle material and to a better steel (CPM-20CV) while they were at it! For those that aren't super into steels, 20CV is Crucible's name for M390 powder steel. It's got great edge retention and stainless properties. This would usually mean less toughness, but the steel has also been used in a few fixed blades (Bark River, Survive! Knives) that are intended for hard use and I have yet to read any reports of the steel chipping readily. So far, the stuff is proving to be an excellent formulation. I will definitely have to order one the next time I have knife money to spend. Anybody else excited about this update? Who's getting one, or has one already?
