My 6P won't light, went through the steps on SFs site, called for support, they said I need a new tailcap. They sent me a tailcap for an L4. Called back, correct one on the way, but I now have an L4 tailcap without the rest of the light : ) I see ebay has "conversion heads" with a Cree Q5, for less than $20. I've been out of the game for a few years, don't know what's current, is that still a good emitter? Can I buy a tube somewhere? Would this be a cost effective way to make a decent light?

L4 tailcap should be the same as E-series tailcaps.
but not the newer EB1 or EB2, those have a redesigned tailcap (longer with more threads).

cree Q5 are XR-E emitters, so yea... they would be considered a little outdated.

Thanks for the info! Do they sell inexpensive tubes to fit the L4 or E series? Do you have any recommendations for a head?
