So I bought this awesome Texas back plate on eBay a few years back, and now that I have a newer Glock I have not been able to find another even close. I love the fact that's it's full color. Anyone have a source? If there's interest, this might be a fun pic thread, so feel free to post a pic of what back plate you've got on your pistol.
Google Classy Raptor Tactical and message Curtis. He can probably hook you up with what you are looking for, or at least a plate that is very similar. He's a great guy and he makes cool stuff !
I find them distracting to my eye. The one I ran (American flag with "veteran" underneath) was just plain white engraving, but the full color seems even more prone to this. Just my opinion. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
When getting an aftermarket glock back plate make sure the surface that faces inside the slide has the circular recess for the spacer sleeve. There are poorly manufactured aftermarket back plates that do not have this recess. This can cause both the back plate to move during the firing cycle and improper striker to trigger bar engagement. Every instance i've ever seen had been on these "cosmetic" back plates. There was at least one company that manufactured them as blanks that could be laser engraved. Many were done as american flags or branded for various gun stores or aftermarket glock parts outlets.
The back plates mentioned here are "cosmetic" and popular for people that want to personalize their pistol. Nothing wrong with that if that is your thing. There are also back plates that serve a functional use. Such as the armorer backplate useful for evaluating trigger engagement. There are also backplates with slide racker attachments used by competition shooters (for speed) or people needing extra leverage (possibly due to a disability or reduced hand strength or arm strength.) As well as backplates that add select fire capabilities for those who can legally do so. The "cosmetic" firearms accessories are very popular as it is human nature to want to personalize and easily justified by many. Most shooters don't shoot well enough to justify the more expensive functional (go fast) stuff. That doesn't apply to most of the folks reading this though. Everyone knows that people that post on internet gun forum are all excellent marksman and can shoot sub MOA with stock firearms and bulk ammunition offhand.
