I just finished this bad boy. It's a donation I'm sending off to the 2013 kniferights.org fundraising auction. :D

What you cant see, and I wish I took pictures of is that I used my carbidizer on the pivot areas of the Ti liners to prevent tool galling and it worked out fantastic! All the tools move super smooth. Im for sure going to do the same process when I make up some TI mini champs, in a few weeks.

 Oh em gee. I didn't realize you fully fabricated scales for your mods. Or is that a limited time only thing?

Ive done 4 full Ti 93mm conversions so far. Ive got a 4 layer cadet in the works right now as well though. I discovered a few tricks to help with hand cutting the Ti, so its getting a bit easier (heavy lubricant put down along the scribe line). Well I still manage about 1 blade for every 2 inches of cutting. :D

Have you done/can you do any other metals for scales?

I work with c260 cartridge brass, 6061 T6 Al as well as Ti. So far Ive only used it on smaller SAKs though for scales, but I use it for 93mm liners alot.

Some 58mm brass in the middle of a mod...

...I was actually wondering about brass specifically. I love brass. :D Thanks for the pictures. Does cartridge brass develop a patina well?

I havent actually carried a brass scaled one long enough to see how it ages, but cartridge brass for sheet is pretty common so I would think it would wear like normal softer brass. Its nice heavy brass to work with, and I love how it polishes up.

Hmm, copper with inset ti liners? :) because i guess copper is to soft to stend alone as a skale
