Wondering the same. I really like the Sunmit pack, but i think its missing a side zipper access.

Either would work. I really liked the waxed canvas look.

I've always liked the look of these but.... are they heavy? I'm not an extreme ultra light guy but I want things as light as possible.

I do. They are very well made by American craftsman. Heavy duty all the way. One thing to think about with these packs is that they do not have the modern comforts like frame sheets, padded hip belts or ergonomic shoulder straps. They are designed like packs of old. Simple sacks and straps. You really need to find the sweet spot for weight with each pack.

From what u know, they are workers who left Duluth Pack after a buy out and made their own company.
Constructions and designs looks better, but haven't had a chance to handle one myself.

The only waxed canvas bag I have experience with is the NutSac Satchel Pro. It is still relatively new, but it looks and feels solid. I am excited to see it age.

I have a Frost River saddle bag on my touring bike. I've had it about ten years and still looks new. Very well made, nice buckles and stitching. I've been eyeing some of their other bags for edc and would have no reservations on their quality.
