No, that is simply my paranoia! There was an article that someone posted here saying that it is possible to duplicate keys from pictures using a 3D printer. While I don't think that there is in general a real risk, it only takes 10 seconds in photoshop and I don't have any second thoughts about posting pictures. Some people simply blur out their keys or cover them with something else, I use the clone stamp to make them look straight.
ahh thought as much. just checking. i just post my keys in pics, never done a close up on them as they are on my mega keychain. so its not much of a problem for me. plus if anyone went to the effort of coming to my country, 3d printing my keys and getting into my house, they almost deserve to steal my stuff. and i think most criminals would not regard doing that, or targeting me as a cost effective way of breaking into houses. most would just smash a window. lolz
I also don't really see anyone actually doing this but since I anyway load my pictures usually into photoshop it is very little extra effort for me!
id probably do the same , but i just upload my images straight to imageshack or google images. it would however make in interesting part of a movie plot..3d key printing stolen from a face book picture for example... lolz if i see that in a thriller soon i would not be suprized.
i have the same nano light on my key chain do you find it manages to unscrew its self sometimes? ive fixed mine now , but a few times i found it with the batterys out in my pocket.
I have read that before but never had any problems myself! Then again I wear jeans most of the time and there is not too much space in the pockets for the keys to rattle around. It also has not seen as much use as my Quantum DD, maybe the problems only start later when it unscrews easier.
mine was worse when it was brand new, it seems fine now, still it makes a great little keychain light..
Brass, copper and bronze are certainly not the best tool metals but they look so awesome! I wish Peter would do more with red metals...
Have to say. You are the king of "keychain - style" Looking at your pics, my interests move more and more to these little "keychaingadget's", away from knives . And yes similar like you I had always some kind of tool or gadget on my keychain. However, love your "style" +1 on that. Just my opinion and thoughts .
Thank you for your kind words!! But you are way too modest! I think your pictures were some of the first I saw here when I came to EDCF and I found your style very inspiring! Especially today's setup with the Pest was heavily inspired by something you were using a couple of months ago! I like the mixture of something useful (a tool, flashlight) and something just for decoration (lanyard, beads, tritium stuff). But I also try to keep it simple enough so that it still fits easily into my pocket! I have not really felt the need for a knife in my EDC so far. But seeing some really nice knives around here I have just recently been thinking of getting one to see what all the fuss is about!
Now I know why the last picture is so good looking to me . I have to thank you for your kind words . Much appreciated And believe me : Knives are really overrated . That's why I can't decide which one would be the next (... the list is too long and different think I save the money for the next keychain-tool .....)
I have never owned a "real knife" (other than a SAK or that cheap black one) so far. But just last night I found a pretty good deal for a barely used Spyderco Techno! Based on pictures here I always liked that one best. So I will check it out, play around with it a little bit but if I find that I'm not really using it, it will end up in trade again and funds will be moved to the next keychain tool!
Some stuff I posted elsewhere earlier but forgot to put here... Pocket dump from a couple of weeks ago Easter picture for the Toolbook
The Techno . Very cool Spyderco. Yes I'm a Spydercolover and think you won't regret it. Waiting for new cool EDC-pics from you
