I think I'm up to a whopping 6 bottles right now, and maybe 20ish sample bottles. Maybe we should start an EDCF ink exchange.

FPN has one. :) Not to pull away from an EDCF one, but you'd probably get more variety over there. Just sayin'. :)

Yeah, but then you'd have to deal with the crazies on FPN! ;)

Both forums are full of enablers. My wallet is displeased with either forum equally.

I don't need to have money in the bank when I meet my maker. Well, maybe something to give to the kids if I end up having any, but until then, my wallet works for ME!

This is my 1st fountain pen, a SS Zebra V-301 with black ink. Taking a bit to get the hang of this and the feel for smooth ink flow.

Any thoughts on Waterman or Parker ink? They are the only ones (that I know of) that are available to me locally.

I really like Waterman Brown ink. (Havana Brown I think it's called) Other than that, the inks are pretty much the same. (As is Shaeffers)

If you're only going to use black/brown/red/green/blue/blue-black inks, those manufacturers are pretty much the same.

If you get into various shades and wanting to try something new, I would check out Noodlers inks, Private Reserve inks, Stipula, and Montblanc.

My favorite dark green ink is Montblanc Racing Green, a long discontinued ink that I've managed to stockpile 8 bottles of :)

I really want to try some noodlers, I just may not be able to afford it right now. Waterman is available at the local staples for cheap. I'd love to try out different inks though, thanks for the tips!!

You can always grab samplers from Goulet's. Their prices are pretty good and plenty to choose from. :) Great people.

That's a good idea. I'll have to see what they charge for shipping to Canada. Thanks Moosh, you're so helpful :D

They have an ink drop program. $10/month and I'm pretty sure they include shipping to Canada.

The vials are small so you only get maybe a fill or 2 but if you like the color you get a discount that month on it.

Due to international postage going up, I do believe the "outside the us" ink drop membership went from $12ish a month up to $15/month.

So, never posted in here because I can't use them!

Left handed, tried to use them at school and was shouted at for "writing with a poker"?!?

I'm a big fan of quick drying rollerball or gel ink :)

I looked into Goulet's ink drop program and sample packages. I think I'm going to pick up the noodler's pack and maybe one more and then go from there. I'm also looking into some nice stationary and wax seals to complete the package :D

Have you tried using a left handed nib and quick drying ink? You may have better luck with that combo!

@Nuph: Brother's a lefty and he uses FPs just fine. :) Do you write hooking over or from under? Brother writes hooking over. Otherwise, have you looked into refillable rollerballs? :D The fun part is choosing your favorite FP ink and refilling them. <3 I've even done this with inexpensive rollerballs such as Pilot Precise V5's and filled 'em up with Noodler's Bay State Blue. :D All the fun of FPs without the "fiddling."

@Gambit:  I love wax seals. I have some cheap ones. A chop with my family name and a uh... monogram initial one. :D I've been wanting a better one with my surname, but I hadn't ventured into any custom ones other than my family name chop so far. Some day. :) I also want one with hearts; I might pick up a cheapie one from Michaels since they're like $5.00 in the wedding section.
