They are still there they are just being filtered to show only the more recent threads. In your settings area, go to "General settings" change the option "Default Thread Age Cut Off:" to show all threads. This will then remove the filter from your profile & you will be able to view all the threads.
Probably better if the forums showed more than just the last days worth of active threads, a month or two would be good. In the mean time can user modifier for each forum section either via your user settings (global change) or at the bottom of each forum section there will be an option to up the time frame of viewable posts.
Like the image in the first post of this thread: http://edcforums.com/showthread.php/47542-Best-Pen-Ever
Ah, that's an attached image file. Attachments were allowed at some point on the old forum, but then there was some trouble over them and they were disabled, though old posts like that still have them. I'm not sure how those are going to work here on the new forum.
Probably should have searched, but I do not see a 'mark as read' link at the bottom of 'New Posts' any more. ?
Look for Thread Tools and Forum Tools towards the top of the pages. These have various options in them, including mark as read.
Soli, when I go to your profile, there is no location. This is true of most of the BST threads I have checked. Is it my settings?
I did not fill in the location for my profile, it should show up as N/A or do you mean you don't see the Location field at all.
well, go to BST and check a few. Most I checked do not have location. I am guessing it is US$, and not Canadian. No locations anymore to tell me that.
I see what you mean, did you happen to set your location in your profile after the upgrade to vbulletin or was it there when the forum came back online? Perhaps this use rinfo was not copied over in the move.
I did set my location after the upgrade. Too bad in the past guys left the time blank. I see west coast US people with east coast time. anyway. fun times
When all the other issues are sorted, maybe Jon could send a site wide PM or set up a notification to remind people to update their user settings.
Someone mentioned HTML and siglines. Can you guys use BB code? I do not know if this is true or not but I have been told that HTML opens a risk for a possible exploit on this particular software. I will try and follow up on it.
I plan on improving the contrast an addressing almost every issue mentioned. Fewer and fewer people are asking for password resets. I am going to have to address store customer Thursday and Friday. Wading through all mail related to the forum has kept me from taking care of customers. If I don't take care of my customers than I will be on the streets. I will resume working on forum issues on the weekend.
Hey that would mean me (as of earlier this evening:-X), and FWI again thanks for all your Uber hard work. Love the icons BTW:
As with the suggestion of a sitewide notification on updating user profiles, maybe it'd be worth giving people a few examples of how to migrate from html to bb code sigs. I'd assume t will be relatively easy for most. eg in most cases it should just be a matter of replacing angled brackets < > with square brackets [ ]. Off the top of my head the only one that doesn't translate like that would be the <A href> tag, it becomes [ URL ] (with out the spaces)
