I'm interested in getting a new fleece jacket mostly because I like sweaters and constantly fear snagging my knit sweaters.

Basically, I have three types of fleece. One, Columbia Steen jackets. I actually have two identical gray ones. They work reasonably well, and I can't remember what my beef is against them. Two, I have two Eddie Bauer fleeces. One is a blue quarter zip pullover, and the other is a black zip up. The inside sticks to my shirts so badly that they're hard to put on (friction), generate a lot of static, and the black one picks up lint and hair to the point it looks like a dirty lint roller. I also have a North Face soft shell jacket with a black fleece lining. It also has gotten to the point it's really hard to drag on over a long sleeved shirt.

    Any suggestions for great fleece?

    Thanks, Team EDC!

Paramo or fjallraven? What do you want it for? And as a mid layer? Or something else?

    Good questions.

Mid layer very cold days / outer wear on less windy, cool days.

I'm not much help because I don't like fleece. I have one of the Columbias in brown and I really like it...for a fleece. :)

Yeah, I only use mine as a mid layer/soft shell that goes under my outershell gortex. I also dislike fleece as I have a black Polartec softshell that collects hair and other stuff like a lint brush, which is what it looks like even after washing it. To me it looks kind of ratty now even if it isn't old. Love the warmth of fleece, but it acts like a lint brush.

To me, this is the key. Who, if anyone, makes fleece pullovers or jackets with lined sleeves? That would be HUGE.

Duluth trading co. has some nice ones. Some of the Mil surplus ones are nice as well.
