My favourite for years was the Texas Twister model - heavy gun metal plate on the front. However, I recently picked up a 1941 repro in hammered sterling silver. I think this one might be my fave for quite a while!
i saw one years ago that looked like it had stopped a bullet.. loved it.. i have seen other like it but not like the one i saw... this just had a dent on the case like the bullet hit it... i have looked for it but cant fine it now, i want to buy it.
The polished ones look great in a case, but as soon as you carry them you end up ruining the finish. For sheer toughness the matte finish painted lighters are always nice for being simple and practical, and pretty bombproof. My current favourite is a 'framed' lighter - matte black around the edges, with brushed chrome on the faces - it will get scratched in the end, but I like he two toned effect. One I do need to get my hands on is just a plain brushed finish steel, which I can see being pretty tough (or at least taking its wear in style)
I don't know what i should vote..... i have some kind of stone-wash with a very very slick and shiny finish. Its a weird combination, check it out: Under this angle close-up its stone-wash; And with this light its very very glossy; I really love this finish. Scratches dont change the look one bit and its strong as heck (Zippo Armor case)
tanga.com sells Zippos and wanted to know what you guys think about their pricing. In 52 days I will be at Sturgis and plan to take my lighter with me. I just finalized the plans the other day and will be doing some camping along the way. I need to have a good lighter to take with that is refillable and will work in the rain if need be.
Yeah that's a nice lighter you there with a great finish. Nothing like getting your money's worth from something. That don't happen much these days.
