Agreed, his sanctimonious political rants add nothing to his review catalog. It just polarizes everyone who watches him. It's why I don't watch him any longer.

i watched a lot of jdavis videos when i was trying to make up my mind what knife to buy, this last time, and i also sent him a message asking him a couple of questions. hes quite @nal-retentive about the details of his knives, so his reviews are helpful to me. i sent him a message with some retentive questions of my own and he was on top of it. gave me useful information and was friendly about it
It's hard not to like the honesty of Nutnfancy especially when he is reviewing something that you plan on spending your precious few dollars on. I have a deep appreciation for Cutlerylover because a few weeks ago I sent him and 5 other people I subscribe to a PM on YouTube asking for advice [regarding my new YouTube channel] and he was the only one who replied. Oh and by the way the other people I sent the PMs to all had 1,000 or much less subs and CutleryLover has over 135,000. For those who are into the prepping scene GQprepper and SensiblePrepper are really creative although a little quirky...[but who isn't?] and TheSurvivalMom is very relaxing to listen to and extremely knowledgable. Edgeobserver is just plain fun to watch [even on mute]. If y'all haven't seen his vids, you need to! He replies to most, if not all, of his comments as well. -BB=> Oh and by the way, I know a lot of YouTube channels post on this forum. If that's you and you have some advice for me I'd appreciate it!
I can only watch Edgeobserver with mute, the guy has excellent videos with magnificent macro shots, but for some reason he insists on doing the voiceovers himself... Which is just terrible, his voice is so annoying it hurts my ears
I really like swissarmyzippo he does a pretty decent review and still has that small channel feel. for everything he dosen't do a review on I go to (in order of preference) ATF6281914, MDPrepper, Equiped2Endure, TheLateBoyScout, WeAlljuggleknives, Wranglerstar, Hickok45, Cutlerylover, Crocket20, nutnfancy.
I really like his videos too. So much so that I actually tweeted him to say so and that his videos had had a hand in kicking off my EDC. He even replied that sounded genuinely surprised and asked me to keep him updated.
The only ones I'm subscribed to are The Urban Prepper and Everyday Tactical Vids. ETV is mostly for looks at new stuff hitting the market and not really as an "in depth" review channel. TUP has given me many ideas for EDC, especially the "Tiered System". I didn't realize how much I was overcomplicating my EDC when I first started. I always thought I needed to have it all with me all the time.
Nicestknives. He is charmingly british. Every Friday he has a beer and talks about a blade. Likes his classics and budgets. His box collection is worth a look.
Preparedmind101 is one I've just found and started watching, sgtfruitcake is probably my favourite though
