Just like pathfinder3 & Darkling I love my Oakley SI boots. Very comfortable and relatively light compared to other boots.

I've owned a pair of steel toed ankle high Timberlands for several years now . They felt like my favorite slippers since day one and have twice been used as 'discussion enders' to great results. Whether riding my motorcycle or hiking local woods I couldn't see myself without them .

I love my Montrail hiking boots in the spring/fall/winter. In the summer, I don't think I wear anything except my Chaco sport sandals. I have flat feet and the Chaco's I can wear all day without pain.

Although I wear cycling shoes a lot of the time, if I'm walking, I tend to go for gert big army boots. I picked up a pair of Corcoran boots in San Francisco this summer and they're just miles ahead of the British Army ones I used to have.

I also bought a pair of these, but they're only for posing in as they'd fall apart in hours if I did any serious yomping in them...

currently a pair of peter storm "skidaw" walking boots. swaped out the laces for a loop of shockcord, allowing me to simply hook it into the speedlacing hooks, and put my boots on ultra quickly.
I also have a pair of hi-tec trainers, which are comfy.

The boots I loved the most where a pair of magnum response side zips.
I say where because the first pair had dodgy leather (and lasted two days), the second (replacement) pair had a dodgy zip (so only lasted about a month), and the third pair developed the same zip problem on top of a blasted mountain, in the snow .
before anyone says, it's not because I was climbing a mountain in boots designed for less extreme use, scaffel pike is not exactly difficult to climb, what with the nice path all the way up, unless it is very windy, and snowing (which it was)

My winter boots were Danner Acadia's and Altberg Peacekeeper

    http://www.altberg.co.uk/Web/military.jsp

Now i'm leaving the military i favour the Danner Hood

    http://www.danner.com/product/hunting+boots/insulated/hood+winter+light+200g+hunting+boots.do

They are very expensive over here in the UK but, as i learned in the Military, your boots and sleeping system are your most important choices, if your not wearing one, your usually wearing the other.

For summer or warmer climes i use a Rogue Ranger RB-2 boot. Handmade in South Africa, they are all you'd need in a warm weather boot, simple and effective, though i ditched the green laces and found some that were more 'complimentary'. ;)

I rather like my very classic: Shoes, Services, Russet, Composition Sole, made by Corcoran for WWII Impressions. Sure it's a WWII reenactor's item, but I have yet to see another shoe/boot of comparable quality for the same price.

My current favorite just now, is my black LOWA Renegade II Mid GTX´s.
I usually have trouble walking in a pair of new shoes/boots, these have been the best so far in that regard.
No pain, almost like walking in regular shoes but with boot level support.
Well built, comfortable and looks smart. ;D

I have only a pair of low hikers from LOWA in the past, but my next "real" military style high boots will be
LOWA´s judged by the performance of these so far.
