I looked a few pages in and couldn't find a thread like this or remember seeing one.

Who are your favorite knife designers?
Use whatever criteria you like. Mine is 95% aesthetic...I'm so superficial.
Just using you guys to make sure I'm not missing out on anyone I might like :p

    1. Bob Lum
    2. Brad Southard
    3. Neil Blackwood

    Honorable Mentions:
    The Glessers
    Frank Fischer
    Warren Osborne

    My favorites are:
    Bob Lum
    Lucas Burnley
    Todd Rexford
    Jens Anso
    Rick Hinderer
    Brian Tighe
    Jesper Voxnaes
    Liong Mah
    Ken Onion
    I like all their designs.
I also realize I like a lot of designers, some are for their utilitarian designs and others are aesthetically pleasing but still kinda have a usable design.

Marcin Slysz and Jens Anso, Sal Glesser too according to my collection :)

Edit : I'm surprised Slysz hasn't already been mentioned with the popularity of the Techno!

The ones that dominate my knife collection are the poor unnamed schmuck that designed the modern SAK ( I am sure ol Carl didn't design all of the evolutions).

    The Glessers

    Ken Onion

    Joseph and Marcelle Opinel

And a smattering of knives of no dicerenable lineage.

Props to the old timers tho...

    AlMar
    Gil Hibben
    AG Russell
    So many more

    I'll bite:

    -Blackwood
    -Cecchini
    -Rexford
    -Cook
    -Hawk
    -Manaro
    -Sibert
    -Munroe

I like technically interesting stuff with more of a classic flair, more classic finishes with a modern, angled look. The exception is Neil's knives, I just like his knives, can't really explain it.

Hinderer, with an asterisk-- I love the ZT 0550 and 0566, but don't desire an XM-x or 0560/0561. Will probably get an 0562 as able.

Rexford. The 0801 is sexy, and his customs are gorgeous.

    Dave Curtiss. Whoa. Beautiful work.

Never mind the beautiful, unique, and simply unbelievable handmades he has created over the years, his collab's with BMK are all my favorite models; the Stryker, the Ares, the Darkstar, and the Nimravus. All epic knives in my book.

Of course, Lightfoot is also a favorite. SImply because he is a local Alberta boy

Ethan Becker for simple design perfection.
Serge Panchenko for truly artistic perfection.
Jens Anso for blade design. I consider then unorthodox ans amazing.
The designers at Leatherman for always building a better mousetrap.
