They're not in all stores, but my favorite is the Zebra Sarasa which you can get at Staples. Second would be the Uni-ball 207 but in my experience and on the paper I use, it skips a lot. The Sarasa is skip free and uses similar water/chemical resistant technology.

I just got this and love it even though I hate ballpoint pens. It's a Pilot Dr Grip Full Black. The grip is so comfortable and the ink is surprisingly dark and fast.

The ergos on the Dr. Grip are simple but very nice. It's a comfortable pen to write with for long periods.

If the pen has to be completely stock, then I'm going with the Pilot G2. If we allow modded pens in this question then a modded Zebra 701. I recently put the zebra G-301 gel refill into the 701 and I aboslutely love it now. It's almost writes like a Pilot G2 but with a metal body.

Zebra G-301 and Zebra Flight. I've only just noticed the difference in size!

I just purchased a Pilot Precise V5 rt and I actually like it. Writes very thin and doesn't smear. I am surprised by it.

The Parker Jotter and the Zebra pens are my favorite easy to find pens. By far.

I like the Bic Clic Stick. Currently using their Crystal pens, to me, they always wrote nicely. My second fave is the Papermate Write Bros (the usual blue colour), but why does it leave blobs of ink on the paper as you write ? No matter what kink of pen, I always prefer blue ink with medium ball point.

Im left handed and have a hard time finding pens that the ink dries almost instantly so it doesnt smear when my hand brushes over top of it. How do these do with that?

They are okay as long as you get the fine tipped ones. I find that the thinner line dries faster and is not as prone to smearni

    Uni Powertank.
A simple, cheap clicky, with a pressurized cartridge (so it writes upside down) but is smooth to write with, it feels like an ordinary ball point pen (and not globby like a space pen)

You should go for the Zebra F-701, then. It is about the same size as the Jotter (slightly longer?), and features classic, simple good looks and very aggressive knurling. I own both, and even though I like the Parker ink better, I much prefer the Zebra when it comes to ergonomics, looks and build.

I'd go with a Zebra or stainless Sharpie. A Zebra will write in a write in rain notebook coated paper just fine. The all stainless Sharpie will also and is pretty indestructible, but its not a clicky
