    Citizen (wearing one right now)
Bullova (great style, affordable, well built, wear one regularly)
Omega (great watches, classy yet modern)
Rolex (an icon of good taste and high quality)
Tissot (excellent watches, almost bought a limited edition again this year... someday I will)
Casio (gshocks are great beater watches for hiking or camping, or days I just want a digital)
Suunto (the Core is a beautiful watch, for a ABC, its my next watch purchase)

    (in no particular order)

G-Shock. Lost it once in a move. Found it when I moved a year later and the time was right on the money.

    Hi all,

I have 2 favorites, both Seiko's. The first is the Seiko divers with the7S26, 21 jewel HD automatic movement, in model SXK007 or SXK009 in either K1 or K2 variation. This is the most incredible heavy duty version of the famous Rolex submariner worn by James Bond in the movies. It is worshiped and trusted by serious divers world wide. I'm not sure if the 007 designation has anything to do with the movie. The crown is in the 4 oclock position and armored by stainless steel flanges that are part of the case, also the spring bars that connect the band are heavy duty as well. The K1's have the rubber band and K2's have the stainless Jubilee bands. The 007's have the black bezel and the 009's have what is refered to as the pepsi bezel it's bezel is 3/4 dark blue and 1/4 red. If you check them out you will see that there are no better Heavy Duty watches on the market. The Rolex although expensive will never hold up like the Seiko.

This watch being automatic will be immune to Electrometic Pulse in a nucluer emergency.

The down side to these type of watches, including the Citizens and the Rolex oyster perpetual movements, is that being automatic they are only accurate to about 1/2 second per day. This doesn't seem like much at first but at 18 seconds a month, the 4 minutes per year can be anoying to some when you are looking at the quartz clock in your car and sometimes listening to the radio and you are off by a coupple of minutes and resetting it. But no matter what it never needs to be opened and you can't kill it, and in reality it is super accurate.

My second favorite is the exact same watch with the quarts movement. The down side to these are that approximately every 5 years they will need a new battery and its case gasket replaced, resealed and water pressure tested. You have to cross your fingers and hope the jeweler knows what he is doing and that the pressure test is successful. If not you are in trouble and the jeweler is not to blame as he had to break the seal to change the battery. Always ask if they have the correct seal and let them know you dont want the original one put back in, when replacing the battery. I am going through this now at $200+ for a new face (dial & hands and an overhaul of the watch from water damage). The plus side is when you set it it is always accurate.

I never should have gotten rid of my 007 and I am getting a new one soon.

If you are thinking of getting one of these always check the back of the case for the 7S26 movement. The 7S36 23 jewel is no more accurate and not quite as heavy duty I am told. The good news the 7S36 is also not available in the 007 and 009.

Submariner aside is the Seiko really ahead of the likes of the Rolex Deepsea? 200m Vs 3900M ???
