Has anyone out there had family disagree with your purchases? I'm looking at getting the ITS Crew Cover hat, from ITS. My fiance thinks its "too operator", which too a degree I understand, but I'm looking for a place to put some sweeeet patches. And since my new move to Tx, I feel like the patterns on these hats are a bit more acceptable than Southern California.. But I digress.. She has a brother and sister in the military, so I get where she's coming from.. But it is my head..

    Anyone else have these problems?

I run things by the wife for style points.

Is this too tactical? Am I toting diapers or a sub machine gun, by the looks of this bag.....

Does this fixed blade make me look fat?

I'm kidding, but I use her as a "General public" set of eyes, since mine are warped by strange hobbies and abundant gear lust.

Do you have "veto" power over her outfits?

    Ya, I didn't think so.

My husband won't let me get a firearm. He's afraid he might have a psychotic break and use it on me.

Just my opinion, happy, healthy, long lasting, partnerships require there to be a two-way street. It doesn't hurt if there is a meeting of the minds on Money/spending, children, politics, and religion. Icing on the cake is if you both enjoy the same hobbies.

As for contractor hats, they are fine. No one is going to notice or care what's on your head.
That's a unique situation. The question is, does he ever say anything about you color matching you G-Shock to your hat? I doubt it... you'r sway too strong & tough for that.

Frankly, yes; particularly with formal evening dress. She doesn't need to worry about me because men's formal wear is either a white dinner jacket or tux. Yes, a tux is black, NOT any other color.

When I find her wearing something frumpy or, particularly, not age-appropriate, I'll bluntly tell her. She may not like it the moment that I tell her; however, she always appreciates it hours later.

I think there is a distinction between saying "something doesn't look good... that doesn't match... etc." and "you're not allowed to wear that".

One must understand that while it is indeed your head; however, it is HER image. Compromise.

I won't go into a diatribe about this distinction. There have been times when I simply said that she is NOT allowed to wear that for reasons that I cannot articulate here even at the infinitesimal level. She understands.

Well, different strokes for different folks. If that's how you two treat it and it works for you, more power to you.

I've been told I'm not allowed to wear clothing.

I like my paint stained and battered cargos.

I'll sit and wait for the outfit, and she'll get some thing appropriate. Happened more than once in our relationship. If I have to dress a certain way to make my partner happy for a specific occasion once in a blue moon, it is no big deal.

    :)

I've told her outfits don't "work". If I use that and the word "clash", I don't get a stiletto to the head

Im in texas and wear a black multicam hat with a blue line Valhalla ticket patch at work. Im in at least 3 different homes a day, and never get weird looks or remarks. And my woman likes my hat. I did run it without a patch for the longest though, and when i slapped it on there, i asked her about it. "Do i look like a dork?". "My dork". Rock on

Over Christmas, I referred to someone's facial hair as a "contractor beard", and literally no one got it.

This wasn't exactly a naieve crowd. We were just discussing carry vs. home defense guns. A couple people had military experience.

If you're on the internet somewhere like edcf, you see these things. If you're not, you probably don't.

He has never questioned any of my fashion choices since he proposed and I told him not to buy a diamond for me. I just wanted a simple silver claddagh as an engagement ring. He didn't complain for some reason. He doesn't complain about me buying fabric to make my own clothes either.
