I stopped by my local Wally yesterday to check out the price point knifes mentioned in this thread. They didn't have any... not one of any style. I can order one on line for local pick up... but none in stock

Look for a big cardboard display, I don't think these are in the knife case.

I found one today at Wally in Weslaco Texas. My only question now is will it last a month or a year or a decade. So far I like it

Glad you managed to find one. All kidding aside, it IS pretty well put together. Now, in answer to your question, that depends on you. Too many variables involved. Personally what I have experienced with it is in light duty, meaning relatively light stress, it'd last quite awhile. Have not put it through anything beyond that. Hard use, I wouldn't even chance it. Medium use...depends on the majority of materials being cut...but again, all this is relative.
Why don't YOU let us know how it fares over time? Just uh, be safe okay?
    Merry Christmas!

Thanks for the reply Jaywalker. So far I've cut a piece of tubing while installing a float valve in my toilet and cut the flaps off of a cardboard box. I've been practicing flipping it open which works quite well. I really like the shape of the blade and as you say "it seems well put together". As it stand right now I'm thinking it is one of the best $4 I've ever spent. And a very Merry Christmas to you and yours

If the Wally knife is close to this one it is made with 8Cr13MoV Steel. Reviews on this steel are mostly favorable.

    That's a funny typo!
DDDWho I agree on the $4 price tag. I have bought stuff at McD's that actually costed more and wasn't as well put together. (I bought a Big Mac meal once, and get this: Middle bun placed on bottom bun, two hamburgers placed on each other. WTH?!?)
I still wanna alter the shape of the blade on mine, and shear off the studs...but my name is not Adahn.;) OR I may just "create" some things out of it.:D

I guess if you heat the studs and then clamp one side in a vise you can open them with grips.
Show us what you did to the knife later.
By the way, do you also make your own knives/alter existing ones?
So far I only remember your collection knives and the Boker stuff you posted, do you also have a "self made full custom" or anything like that? You SpyderZashi or such things would be really interesting :)

I saw the buyer for Walmart posting about these knifes on blade forums and I think he said that it was 420j2 or 3cr

The recently reopened Wally World in Livingston, TX didn't have any that I could find.
Like another member I was also looking at cheap watches.
I have two other Wallys I can get to to pretty easy. And others around Houston.

I was at Wallyworld the other day, and they had a new 4 dollar folder. I don't know what it was modeled after, but it had the blade shape of the Kershaw Ember, so a Hinderer.

I have seen the same display at my local Walmart, and am always tempted, but never wanted to pull the trigger, because I got some $2 basic folders from a similar display once for emergency preparedness blades (a few stashed with water, etc in the event of a disaster) and at $2, I seriously overpaid. Glad to see this one is nice, though. If they are still there next time I stroll past, I'll see if one jumps in my cart.

I have been carrying one for 2 months now and its a great beater/box opener knife, holds an edge pretty good too, I thumb nail flick it open because the the flipper tab is useless with the liner jimping all around it and its tip down :( other than that its been a great knife so far, the pivot is now nice and smooth with no play etc...
