Or have you ever made something similar? I'd like one to fit in my CC Delrin Pocket Safe(but I know it's too small) so I'll look for something bigger(Exotac maybe?). Love to hear what you all think. Thanks.
I reread your first post several times before I gave up and moved to the second... A any rate, if you are trying to make a more compact version of this, I would recommend a material like Tyvek in lieu of cloth - it will be thinner.
While not looking like gold but brass this thing would be reeeeeally expensive if made of gold. And it would be much weaker than brass.
this looks really fun. cap with o ring and an embedded compass? is this like slightly bigger than a shotgun shell? where can I buy it?
That's a neat idea, haven't seen that before. Quite bit bigger than a shell though, but still an interesting twist on the mini kit.
The canister is neat but I think I like the mini tool roll more. I'll keep my eye open for you but I've never seen anything like that for sale
Definitely love the roll. Big heavy tube, not so much. Certainly something else can be found for a substitute, that would also serve an emergency purpose.
Made by Fort Standard. Check their web page. It doesn't appear to be available any longer. It may have only been a single item they made for a show.
I found some Ti tubes that open on both sides so you can push things through. I just need (well I need to buy the ti tube) to get the roll made for me. Such a good idea. Can't believe I haven't seen something similar here.
Stylish like hell, with antique flair... love how advice on the brass cylinder must acts as knurling, really don't feel like dissing over the contents. Some kits do not need to be told what to include or drop, they just exist in harmonious coexistence of contents, packing and overall presentation. Like works of art.
Slightly different, but a related rendition, is the ESEE Advanced Modular (yes, MOD-u-LAR, that's what it's called) Fire Kit: has the compass, the fire starter and room for only a few extras. If you want even more room, however, there's an extension for it as well. Length is about 3.5", double that with the extension. Looks like this: Cost is a reasonable $60 or so.
