    Spread the word

Yesterday police forces launched a fresh assault on the Maidan Square in Kiev, 25 dead until now. The Ukraine doesn't get its share in media covering and attention as got for example the Egyptian revolution. The following video that was supposed to go viral, got viral only among my Lithuanian friends. It's a sort of injustice, so that's why i'm sharing this video of the girl addressing (in imperfect English) Europeans hoping to attract their attention to her cause

    PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD!
government troops are shotting protesters with hot ammunition...
    GRAPHIC!

unofficially, after this nights truce, from morning ~50 people were killed from both sides... It's coming to civil war, and this is worst case scenario that can happen...

Yesterday, in central squares of Lithuanian towns we stood for support of Ukrainian people

Russian vice-prime-minister Rogozin canceled this visit, and Medvedev spilled more fuel to conflict by saying that Yanukovich must stay in power at any cost...

Every normal gov-t would destroy Maydan much earlier when then-peaceful-protesters started to throw Molotov's cocktails to police. Yanukovych is too shy because pressure from the EU which supports opposition.

Sorry samotnik, but must disagree, any government don't have any right to use lethal weapons against it's own protesting citizens.

TOshis, only until these citizens start capturing governmental buildings and fighting police with Molotov's cocktails. Ukrainian militia has the right to use lethal weapons in such cases according to the Law on Militia. And as additional reading about how a government stops riots pls google "LA riots in 1992".

Push the people hard enough, ignore them, and eventually, you'll get the violence. They want to be heard and treated like humans. If that happens at the blood of every Ukranian policeman and soldier, then so be it.

If You're saying that shooting Your own people is acceptable, I must say that people have right to rise.

Of course, shooting is acceptable, under certain condition. Any country has a law which regulate that. And yes, people have a right to rise against despotic illegal government. The point is that Ukraine has legitimately elected president and legally appointed government, which in theirs turn have a right to defend the state against coups and riots.

I think that with regards to the events in Ukraine there are too many emotions that prevent people from sober analysis of the situation.

Especially if you are in a revolutionary country or somewhere near it, as we are together with TOshis.

My point is simply that if the people won't be heard by their own government, then it's time for a new government. When all else fails, vote from the rooftops.
