Saw a guy today at a meeting and he had an orange notebook, hardcover, but it was almost like a size in between a pocket Moleskine and a large Moleskine. He's an engineer, and it appeared to be at least partly grid sheets. Anyone know what brand it is, or what it's called? I looked at Rhodia and it doesn't appear to be anything they make.

Sounds like a "field book". They are usually bright colors because they are used outdoors and may be dropped or set on the ground. They come in several different line/grind patterns for different uses.

You can buy them from pretty much any engineering, surveying or forestry supply place. Here's one of the first links that came up.

Sounds like a field or lab notebook. I purchase lab notebooks through Scientific Notebook Company. No affiliation other than being a happy customer.
