It's going at around -6 a day. Any way to have it speed up a hair?

2 days after posting this my fathers military 5 stopped working. Oops. My watchmaker mentioned the rotor has probably come loose.

If you get one and don't plan to wear it every day invest in a winder. Also, plan to get it serviced every few years.

How're you liking the Seiko 5? I've got some cash and am wanting to get one but want to hear about how it is? I've heard reports of it being smaller than suspected. Is it too small? Will it stop running overnight if you aren't wearing it while sleeping? And is it annoying to do?
    Thanks!

The seiko 5 military is small for some. 38mm I believe. A "standard" Rolex sub is 40mm for comparison. I personally like 42-44mm the best.

The reserve time on the 5 is around 40 hours. I've taken mine off on a Friday night, and it was still running on a Sunday morning.

Is it annoying to do? I love it actually. My wrist is pretty thin (I'm using the third hole), and it looks pretty good. If you want pictures, I should be able to get them up soon. It's quiet, but you can hear the rotor running in a closed room, and the tick tick tick from around 6 inches away. And mine hasn't run down since I received it, and I wear it every day except for the 8 hours when I sleep. I took it out to play volleyball, kept on checking it after every dive, but it's still ticking!

Is the Seiko 5 as small as everyone says it is?

Yeah, I'm trying to get an idea of its size. Maybe take a pic with it on your wrist with a quater next to it? Or something to give us something to size it with.

I THINK shopnbc.com and I am sure other sites have printable watch templates you can cut out to get a better idea of how a watch will look on your wrist.

Hopefully these will help? And yes, it's on a stingray strap that I did very quickly. The stock strap's already fraying. [IMG]

I ordered one and a zulu strap. It's eligible for a free return on amazon.

My wife wears a Seiko 5, she loves it, I wear a Gsar daily and love it too. I have almost entirely eliminated watches that require a battery from my collection.

    G-shock Riseman (solar)
Swiss Army Air Boss Mach IV (winder)
    Citizen Nighthawk (ecodrive)
    Swiss Army Ground Force (battery)
    Marathon GSAR (auto)

I honestly love this watch. Everything about it makes me happy and feels useful. If I had to change one thing it would be the size, only if it was exactly the same just 46mm.
