I haven't gotten mine yet. It looks like yours shows machining marks on it? Or is the finish supposed to look scratched on the conical area?

Things I wanna know - does his mechanism to retract (and extend) the ink cartridge work well/reliably? And if the clip (since it needs a gap) doesn't have the clamping force to grip (and stay put) onto various pocket materials, and could get lost by getting out of a shirt pocket, then I won't like using it.

Well It is well made but I sent it back last week.

The mechanism works fantastic and it is a great selling point pushing in the button and than pushing in on the clip to retract the cartridge.

Here is why it went back! In my work shirt the clamp has no gripping power whatsoever. It could just slide right out if it wanted to. If you wanted to put in your pants pocket the grip is good and no worries so if you carry that way and you like that style of pen I can highly recommend. I like carrying in my shirt pocket so it is not for me. So I Urban EDC had the titanium alpha pen and with my discount code I got it for 235 shipped and it is on it's way.

Ugh! I do keep a pen in a pants pocket (often the Fisher Millennium Space Pen), however, I also like to have something dependable clipped in a shirt pocket (if the shirt has one - often the Machine Era Co. 2016 Field Pen), and I figured that this one was one I'd use more with shirts than pants. If the pen doesn't stay put or I might lose it, then that is a dealbreaker. Bummer.

These pens are all used regularly...each has its merits. All but two are piston filled.

I bought a Pilot Varsity at the store I work at. I have other cartridge pens.
The Varsity is the only one that works first time every time.....

    The Titanium Alpha Pen.

The new version has a few minor changes I learned. The stampers mark is now on top of the pen where you would normally put the Allen wrench to remove the clip.

Now it comes with a Allen wrench and you put the Allen wrench inside of the cap if you need to remove the clip.

I'm not allowed to say as my posts then get deleted as advertising.....:censored:

The titanium P6 is very simple in design but it writes and is very lightweight and comfortable for me. All I want it to do is write - and not leak in my pocket......

I am eagerly awaiting this one below and another called the Thunder Bolt.

FYI. That is very typical of every Pilot fountain pen I have or have handled! They do a great job both with the feeds and the nibs. One reason my absolute best pocket size fountain pen is a Pilot M90!

But how comfortable is that grip section?...so hard buying on the internet. It looks like really cool metal workmanship...probably worth every penny.
