Thanks for the heads-up about this Böker Plus Rocket pen collaboration with Darriel Caston! I hadn't paid attention to his off-of-ks activity, and it's neat to see the versions with less expensive material options (even though I really like the zirconium)...

I opted for the black anodized aluminum one, since it's sorta reminiscent of the zirconium, and yet lighter than the bronze or brass ones.

Hopefully the anodized surface finish will be more durable than the coating of my Böker Plus Tactical Pen K.I.D. Cal. .50 - guess we'll see. Not a bad option to test drive, for less than $30 shipped, though! :)

Speaking of coatings, I didn´t mention that the Rocket came clear laquer-coated, I had to remove it to let the pen get a patina.

I have one in black, same exact pen. It's not bad. It seems to be decently machined.
I got mine for $3 on amazon with free shipping from china. It took longer than 30 days for it to arrive so I got a refund.
The next week it showed up!

Did you just cut the length? If so, what did you use for the ink tube end? Clay or wax?

All I did was snip it with some scissors. I didn't have to plug the end. I haven't had any issues with ink leaking. Give it a shot.

Just got this pen today and what a pain in the you know what to get it. It is well made for sure but I have one major concern about it and will do a review on it in a week or two after carrying it.

Parker refills are a turn off to me.
    Pretty good looking pen though.

Totally agree on Parker BRANDED refills. OTOH, Parker 'style' refills, made by a LOT of makers, gives a wide range of choices for a wide range of pens. Some of the best in my NSHO include Schmidt, Fisher.

    L''chaim!

Agree w/MBD....the "Parker" format allows a shorter pen which will actually fit in your pocket and allows a choice of about any kind of ink you would want....bp, gel, hybrid...yada yada.....
