Yes, that's a great description of it. A Slider with a clicky. I've been a long time customer of Mr. Will Hodges. I would say that these new Movers and Shakers have the best quality and fit as compared to his first generation. Furthermore, the engineering on this new clicky mechanism is outstanding.

So how do folks know about a new version of the Shaker? And is the new click mechanism the same as the reverse-engineered offering that Jack Roman of TuffWriter has made for his writing instruments and others (like the Bona Fide Machined Pen at that one crowdfunding site)? Jack's also got a titanium version of that click mechanism as well. Just curious if Will re-reinvented the wheel, or if he used Jack's...
Have been using the kaweco sport classic for a couple of weeks, absolutely loved it so decided to get the brass version Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Just a heads up... The new Mover/Shaker (redesigned in house manufactured clicky mechanism, slightly thinner, grooves at the way up the the Slider/Glider, slightly bulkier more rounded off tip) are going up on Kickstarter soon (Will's latest claim is Monday). He has already been manufacturing them and plans to do another lightning round (original plan was offer mid October, ship November). Based on the cult following he is building up I suspect the initial Kickstarter round will sell out quickly. Given that he has his own mechanism and bought a new machine just to build it, they will likely be available in his store afterwards. The mechanism is based on the original one in the old Mover/Shaker which is the one that Jack reverse engineered. However, Will lengthened it to get more refill travel, and increased the diameter to strengthen it. It is also titanium, rather than brass, so should be lighter and stronger. The threading is also different. Upside, it is supposed to be a more bomb proof mechanism, downside it will not fit in the old pens. He suggests buying Jack's version to retro fit an old Mover/Shaker Sounds like they will be available in raw and anodized aluminium, copper, titanium, and maybe stainless steel.
Sweet - thanks for the info @Bad Company & @bj warkentin! I don't always pay attention to if folks have ig accts, and don't look for 'em or check 'em regularly. Yet found a few posts, like this one about the new version, and that one earlier gave good info about it. Good to know, thanks! I'll hafta keep an eye out for a new ks project next week...
I've had it for a while and it hasn't bent on me yet. It feels pretty solid to me. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

Bought this one from tsjainah 'cause I thought it looked capable. Was wondering if it was a knock-off of someone known to you fine gentlemen (and gentle ladies) or if I am "safe"? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Looks similar to any number of the so-called 'tactical' pens claimed to be designed to act as kubatons. But nothing specific springs to mind. L'chaim! Moshe ben David
I have an identical one I purchased from AliExpress for under £3.00. Decent enough for the price, certainly has some weight to it.
