I just received my order today and did a breakdown of them, I must say for a edc pen it's pretty cool, JR
Ran out the door this morning without the usual suspects. Luckily I keep three or four of these in my car. Also, these are my favorite refills. Sent from my iPhone 7 using Tapatalk
Decided to try Uniball refills. Lost whatever made the Itoya GEL fit. I had 3 Uniball .7mm that still had wax on the end. I find that one of those writes pretty good. Not Pilot G2 good. But not too bad. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using Tapatalk
Found what made the Itoya fit in the Lamy Rollerball. But it's staying Uniball. Cut down a Bazic GX220 blue 'gel' refill and put it into the Zebra F701. I don't really like blue. But the black pens from two packages are here somewhere. The blue looks like this: The package from the Dollar Store looks like this: Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using Tapatalk
If I didn't mention it the refills look like ballpoint. But it says oil gel on the package.... Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using Tapatalk
I haven't seen Powertank pens in stores in a long time. The clips have fallen off mine and they are all just about out of ink. Today I reckon to make the F701 have black ink. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using Tapatalk
Humph. The F701 stays blue for now. The black GX220 pen actually writes more grey. And the level of the ink is up where I'd need to cut it. The blue isn't so bad. But for 8 years I've been writing in black. Back to the drawing board.... Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using Tapatalk
It is a crying Wicked shame that you can't put a G2 in a 701. They just write so fine! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using Tapatalk
Is this a precursor to ballpoint and Rollerball pens? It has a screw filler. It was my Grandfather's best as I can tell. Need some ink to test it out. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using Tapatalk
That's a Rapidograph, model 3060 I think. It is a draftsman' stool. They came in many ( 18 maybe) nib or line widths, each one 1.414 times the size of the one before. It's held perpendicular to the drawing surface in use and gives a precise weight, or width, line.
It's a technical pen, used in technical design. Most likely the nib/point is clogged with dry ink and will not work. The point is actually a slim wire into a tube that put a very specific line (different sizes) down to paper, also use India ink, a thick waterproof and quick drying ink. Follow my picture to disassemble and clean the pen. You might be able to get a replacement nib or transform your pen into a fountain pen:
So, startin' with that one, this Lamy Scala rounds out my 50th anniversary writing instruments which came out last year (not gettin' all of them)...
Doesn't look like much. Writes way better than it looks. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using Tapatalk
Yup! Rapidograph technical drawing pen. Without the screw on cap it will make a mess in your pocket. Disassemble and soak in water to clean.
I have exactly one FP that works at this time. Because I don't use one all the time I have a few more that COULD work but I would have to buy cartridges or at least ink and I don't want to. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using Tapatalk
She's a heavy little beast coming in at 85 grams but i actually kinda like the weight, im not writing a novel anyways. Straight from china just about every detail was wrong but a nice enough base to work with (needed cleaning, deburring, sanding, new refill and some more small things) and hey for 8 bucks shipped it sure was a good enough gamble I sure hope the patina starts setting in soon, its a bit gold for my liking.
